I kinda think you've gotta put it on Seth first. Agreed, he by far makes the most sense.

I kinda think you've gotta put it on Seth first. 1000% agree. The guy has been ready to be a world champion again for some time now. And if anyone can help legitimize the belt (I mean the best it can be given the circumstances) it's him. Strap him up, and let him put on bangers with talent that have been bottlenecked into nothing because of Roman's misery booking.

So what is the reason Reigns can't lose and we now have to introduce yet another World Title? I just don't get it all. Don't get me wrong I'm glad we at least finally have something that someone other then the freaking Bloodline can win without having to get buried by them but at the same time it just seems unnecessary.

This is all so cringe. It's a belt for second place losers like Cody. Why can't they just have Roman lose, ffs?!?! WWE is filled with a bunch of f***ing weirdos, man! Just literally have Roman lose then teh next night have Heyman pull a shithead manager move and say well you only beat Roman for the WWE Title! as written in the contract.

All of the other belts except the US really need makeovers. It's the first thing I wanted HHH to do when he took charge.

Hell…let’s not even have a tourney for it. Just have Triple H remember his roots and pull a Bischoff and give it to whoever he feels like.

This was actually my armchair booking storyline I went with for Drew in Cardiff. Like that moment not only was a let down, and was the perfect time to do it, but you could have done it SO MANY different ways.

Super excited for this and the reaction seems to be really positive for this. The belt itself is such a beautiful and smart update. They knocked it out of the park. I love the design, hate the rhetoric behind it and the booking I've seen plenty of negativity for this too, because of the booking and how this only exists because they won't give up with the Roman double reign, wish it was made under better circumstances than that, because that's what so many people are thinking with it I wish it wasn't laid on so thick that it's the belt "free of part timers and politics" because that's the same shit we've heard for a decade and that's what the Universal title was SUPPOSED to be and now we're on world title belt number 3 for the exact same reasons... I hope it has fun champions and fun feuds because as of right now all it highlights is how much of an albatross Roman is and how much they have to dance around him to have more of a show...

Introducing more titles with no lineage or history is lame Well, they would have to purchase another company in order to introduce a title with an already established lineage or history.

Cody should've just beaten Roman for the WWE Title at Mania. He finishes the story, Roman keeps the Universal Title for his record breaking reign, and each brand gets a champion. It serves all masters better than this.

The only way this will be a consolation prize is if Cody win's in, if Seth win's it than it will be no different than when Finn Balor won the Universal Championship shortly after it was introduced. This does have some parallels to that time as well, one show can't have two belts, after the WWE and World Heavyweight Championship were unified into one belt, that belt was made exclusive to Smackdown because of the Draft. Then, RAW needed a Championship, so the Universal Championship was made. WWE now also has a draft coming up, if Roman Reigns is made exclusively to Smackdown and WWE enforces a brand split, Roman will only be on Smackdown leaving RAW without a champion.
I know we bitch about a lot stuff, but ONLY if Cody wins this belt is this a consolation prize.

This is not a world championship, and anyone who wins it will be a “world champion” in name only.
That said, I hope it kind of functions like the International Championship has in AEW. Secondary title that is a notch above the other secondary titles, and is sort of the de facto workrate focused belt. It has the potential to be an awesome addition to WWE TV if that’s how they use it.

I hope they just quietly toss the Universal Title in Lake Michigan never to be seen again.
Belt itself is gorgeous looking and I'm glad they're finally making a top title that isn't just a carbon copy of the WWE Championship. But man this really does feel like they booked themselves into a corner with Roman.

I know we bitch about a lot stuff, but ONLY if Cody wins this belt is this a consolation prize. No, I don't agree with that at all. The belt's a consolation prize because no one could beat Roman for years and he won both belts, it's a consolation prize because guys like Seth said "FINALLY WE HAVE A WORLD TITLE AGAIN" and essentially had to gush about how it's a real title for the people and when you have to do that and ignore you couldn't beat Roman and no one could, it's a huge issue. It's a consolation prize because they had to make this belt because Roman is a part timer who doesn't lose and will continue to do that. They haven't had another world champion in years, it's been the Roman show, that's why it feels like a consolation prize. They had to make a whole other title for guys to have world title programs entirely separate from Roman Reigns' orbit, because he won't lose either belt. That's the issue here, and that's gonna be the issue for a long time with this imo.

But man this really does feel like they booked themselves into a corner with Roman. That's gonna be a hanging specter over this belt for a long time, especially if they just keep the Universal Title around as well, this is basically the third world title and that's... that's just not good. I love the design too, I wish it was under better circumstances than them openly admitting Roman's just not losing any time soon lol

Just literally have Roman lose then teh next night have Heyman pull a shithead manager move and say well you only beat Roman for the WWE Title! as written in the contract. That would've been a much better outcome than what we got here. Sure, it would cause a lot of groans for Roman to keep one of the titles, but at least it would've made sense. Roman's camp being smart enough to have that as a backup plan is something you can run with, and you also have that extra layer with Roman not being so confident about winning at Wrestlemania. These are elements you can build upon to bring about the downfall of the Bloodline saga, all the while keeping true to continuity.
But no, WWE is so hell-bent on not having Roman lose that they've decided logic be damned. They're introducing a new WHC because Roman losing would "ruin" their endgame.

There are now two titles called the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. They better not vanish the one dating back to the company’s founding in 1963.
