That Bret hart/macho man thread reminded me of my own personal favorite that’s somehow been lost to time despite being very memorable
The infamous Terry Funk Satchel ass promo for ecw ons 2. I clearly remember it, they mocked the hell out of it on Bryan and Vinny of f4w. Then one day a listener asked Bryan where it’s from and apparently no one can find it online and it never uploaded to YouTube. I do believe it was a wwe.com exclusive since it was pre YouTube. So it’s in that weird era of time between vhs and YouTube where everything was online but hard to archive

I have tried like hell to track down the promo where “Big Cat” Ernie Ladd called Dusty Rhodes “a fat cracker with a lisp,” and I still haven’t. I’ve found him saying things about Manny Fernandez, Chief Jay Strongbow, Tony Atlas, and Rocky Johnson that would never make it on TV today, but not the Dusty promo.

Is the infamous Waldo Von Erich promo that (I think) got the NWF kicked off of tv in Cleveland out there? I don’t need to see it but I’m wondering if it’s easy or hard to find.

If it did in fact air in some markets like everyone says, I’m really surprised the Hogan Snake Pit segment has never turned up.
If it was recorded and not aired, you’d think it would have been used on a WWE produced documentary by now.

I remember in the late 2000s/early 2010s a number of people making fun of the Jimmy Snuka empty arena promo where he goes nuts destroying the chairs and Vince is yelling at him. Apparently the WWE realized how much that looks like the roid rage of a guy who probably killed his girlfriend, because I haven't been able to find a whiff of it in years. They wiped it clean off the interwebs, I think.

Basically goes with what was the original characterization of the Von Erich "family".

Booker T visiting MAMA SANGRE for voodoo advice and death sand to defeat The Undertaker in 2004 was like borderline lost media for awhile.

This one and Vince on Victory Corner essentially telling everyone how he was going to take over wrestling in 1984 were VERY common in early YouTube but have now disappeared. Also that one DDP one where there's a lady above/behind him that bends over.

Not rare, exactly, in and of itself, but it's frustrating that it seems difficult to find Cactus Jack's "Uncle Willy" promo in ECW in decent quality.
"Cane Dewey" is the much more well-known promo, and I get why, but "Uncle Willy" is even better in my eyes, not the least of which reason being that it's maybe the best example I've seen of a wrestler taking something pretty damn high concept by wrestling standards and still making it fit what they were doing. Gloriously self-righteous, but still plenty coherent. Just a shame the only copy I recall seeing on youtube is in really low quality.

Though I think I read that on reddit so take that story with very little legitimacy behind it.

On the WWE Network's Warrior doc they posted after his death, there was a clip of a press conference I think from around Summerslam '92, where Warrior did a promo totally in character with screaming/spitting, then abruptly stopped and smiled, and continued to speak very calmly in kayfabe about getting the WWF title back. I've mentioned it here before and always wanted to see the whole thing.

I got another!!!
It was used for house shows, and it happened weeks after the belt smashing incident on SNME. Hulk Hogan was talking about an upcoming match with Mr. Perfect of course, wearing the destroyed title, then he simply says it doesn't matter because....and he pulls out a new copy of the WWF title and goes along his usual promo.
For as good as he sold the incident on SNME itself, this would probably have undone that good will if more people remembered it.

Many moons ago it was Roddy Piper with "Virgilina" but there's two that have been up for several years.
What the f*** was the payoff supposed to be?

Possibly a way to combat Sherri in having a female at ringside. With it still being Virgil, it would go nowhere. But someone thought to do it at the time, just didn't think it through.
