So, if the McMahon incident never happened do you think one day they would have turned Nailz into a "good guy"? Like let him tell his side of the story civil, no distorted voice or anything. Made Nailz shirts and ice cream bars?
I mean his arch rival Bossman was an evil prison guard when he debuted who handcuffed his opponents after the matches and beat them with a billy club became a face.
Or just become another monster to feed to Hogan or Savage to fade off into obscurity?

If he had lasted into early 94, maybe a face turn to trash Bossman because he went to WCW. But would probably go over like the Billionaire Ted skits.

I can't really picture "lumbering jackass who chokes people for 97% of his offense" working as a face. Maybe if you pair him with some face "rehabilitating" him it could click, but that's about it.

Rehabilitated Nailz and Civilized Kamala could have been the greatest tag team that Reverend Slick ever managed!

They might be able to do a "he was framed" storyline.

I could see them doing Nailz as a face and Boss Man as a heel if both stuck around. Similar to Taker & Kane doing sort of a double turn in late 98 when Taker and Bearer turned on Kane & Taker was like “yeah I did kill your parents actually lol”.
So basically everything Nailz said about Boss Man would be proved right in the end.

No way is WWF turning Boss Man heel in that era, the only way this happens is that Nailz gets “rehabilitated” through a series of vignettes and is turned into a comedy character.

About the only way I can see this working is if he was a goon for DiBiase and IRS and they tried to do the Virgil angle again by treating him like shit until he beat their asses to a huge pop and somehow gets forgiven by the Bossman afterwards. Then they go off off roading or something.

Him still wearing the orange jumpsuit despite being free was the best.

As mentioned I could them having Reverend Slick reform him. However he was so limited in the ring I can't see it working and I think they would know that and never try even if Nailz stuck around longer.
Getting slightly off topic although not much since Nailz whole existence as a character centered around him, but I'm surprised they jobbed Boss Man out so bad after the Nailz feud and then let him walk so easy. I know the character had kind of run it's course as he had runs as both a face and a heel and they did pretty much all the easy go to feuds (feud with another law enforcement character, feud with bitter ex convict). However it's not like they couldn't have repackaged him or tried to go in another direction with him. He was still young as he wasn't even 30 yet when he left and the matches with Vader in WCW the following year proved he could still go in the ring. I guess they just wanted to refresh the roster and didn't have any room for any of the Golden Era guys any more regardless if they could still produce or not.

Didn't he also walk because he was concerned about the optics of the steroid trial? But yeah, some of it was probably WWF not trying that hard to keep him because he was "TV old", you could say, even if I agree with you that they could have probably pretty easily refreshed him.
