The classic “whose side is he on?” is premised on the person being a beloved babyface. Even in his limited AEW exposure, Jay White is a big ole violent douche who would fit right in with Callis and Moxley.

Our innocent, naive, cinnamon roll-lovin’ babyface becoming evil was much more impactful, I think.

That said, I do think that Switchblade should make it to that level of storyline ASAP for me to put the stamp of approval on his run.

Yeah its stupid they went right back to Bullet Club with him and he's been given so little to play with...but he'll make it work, he'll bring people around on this. On one had, I enjoyed the stuff with Ricky. And I really liked the stuff with Juice and FTR.

On the other hand, I’ve heard so much about how awesome he is and how much of a big deal he is, and he hasn’t felt like that at all.

Voted fair.

Probably not fair to the guy that I’m basing a lot of that on stuff I’ve heard etc, but life’s not always fair. I hope he becomes that guy I’ve heard about in the future though.

I'll say good. I think as much as people like Jay and he deserves to be pushed he came in at a weird time. But he and Juice have great chemistry and amuse me.

Coming from someone who is completely unfamiliar with his work outside of AEW, so far he feels completely forgettable and replaceable.

I've only heard about him and just have seen his Impact and AEW matches, so I don't have much of an opinion yet. But saddling him with the annoying anchor that is Juice Robinson is doing him no favors. That voice. I think Toni Storm is the only one glad to see him.

I can tell you from the live threads that is not correct and a lot of people love Juice's role with Jay, I'm included lol

Honestly I see Juice ending up as the breakout of the two. He's way more charismatic.

I'll say average because it feels like it just started but I love the dynamic of BCG. The promo on Wednesday was unbelievably fun and I'm enjoying the Starks feud. Add a decent member to the group and there's a lot of upside.

You're not going to get peak NJPW Jay White unless he's basically the top heel in the company. It just isn't going to hit the same in the mid-upper-midcard. MJF has that top main event heel spot locked down though so until he goes face or takes a break after losing the title I don't think Jay will be headlining.

He would have the same issue if he went to WWE. He wasn't going to be a bigger heel than Roman.

True but with 2 brands, I could’ve seen Jay being the top heel on Raw. It’s kind of wide open with Balor and Gunther as the top heels.

Very true. There’s room and ways for other heels to grow underneath a reigning conquering heel champ. Swerve and Jay are both in that space.

And about Juice, I love Juice Robinson. I do. But dudes on Jupiter while Jay’s still on earth. Added members to BCG would/could/should help.

His run in Impact was better. When he was a FA & when signed, it was promoted (correctly) as an ex-IWGP champion and top guy from New Japan. He should be going on TV & beating JTTS in seconds and then obnoxiously calling out that nobody is in his league.

He's a better heel than MJF, so figuring they don't want their heel champ getting overshadowed or they just don't know what to do with him.
