It's funny.... I have zero issue with Roman and his title reign, but I am looking forward to him dropping the title. I get that, and I think it’s mainly because we all know it will be a huge moment. We haven’t really had a [real] big moment since when? Kofi? There’s been a ton of big moments, but if you mean a singles wrestler winning a world title type of big moment then I think Bianca winning the main event of Mania over Sasha, and then beating Becky for the title at Mania the next year would both qualify. Same with Rhea at this year’s Mania. Liv’s cash-in was also a pretty big singles title moment. On the men’s side, since Kofi, I think it would just be Rollins beating Lesnar at Summerslam for the title, and Big E’s title win on Raw, since Drew had his moment neutered by being in the PC with no crowd.

Incredible. This is why you don’t take the title off Roman.

Incredible. This is why you don’t take the title off Roman. I don't think the title was needed for the draw here. It's been mentioned elsewhere but every aspect of Cody and Roman's story would probably be enhanced had the Mania result gone differently. Yes, this was the 1000 day celebration. But I don't think that was the hook. The hook was the next step in the Bloodline story which we knew we were getting based on the angle they shot the prior weekend. The whole angle wasn't even really about the title. We had a whole celebration and wrestling logic would dictate that his next big challenger would interrupt him. But we didn't get that. The focus and rightly so was on the familial dynamic that has been the real draw here from the beginning. It's why the Sami/Jey match popped a big rating a few months ago. As long as you keep this storyline interesting with big moments, we'll see it continuing to do big business. The title in this storyline is almost secondary until Roman actually has a Cody esque person coming for him which seems a while away at this point.

Roman MFing Reigns and the Bloodline are a draaaaaaaaaw.
Love to see it. Incredible story, and I can't wait for the next chapter.
Will Jey "fall in line, like he always does" as Roman predicted? Find out, this week on WWE Roman Reigns Rules Smackdown

Him having the title still seemingly hasn’t hurt and may be helping (no way to quantify really). And moving forward, there is still that loss of the title moment that they can build to that wouldn’t exist if Cody had won, so it’s not crazy to argue they’re in better shape than they would be if the Mania result went differently.

Hey, the 3 mil I predicted. Tell me again why they would need to change anything? I'm laying down the next one, They'll surpass their Attitude-era ratings. The 'Everything works nothing fails' era for the E continues Time to bring that extra W back to the company name with all these dubs they’re taking

Seriously tho, I thought about this the other day and it hit me that The Bloodline is like the most I've been invested in a wrestling storyline in my entire adult life so far. Just a few years ago I couldn't even fathom watching RAW and Smackdown every week (let alone for Roman Reigns) and now I'm mainlining this dude's family drama in to my veins.

I just mentioned in the wrest section that for most of the past 10-12 years I normally watched the big 4 PPVs and would skip most of the rest. The past 9-12 months though I've been invested and looking forward to every PPV. I always thought Batista/HHH would be my favorite storyline but if this has a great ending I think the Bloodline saga will take that spot. I was so f***ing melodramatic for like 24 hours after Cody lost at Wrestlemania thinking I was done watching and here I am 2 months later hooked back in.
