Today in “Nothing makes sense anymore”, the NWA’s speculated two TV deals are reportedly, for the newly non-WB’d CW Network. One is for NWA Powerrr and the other is for a reality show based on the day to day business of the NWA. Like… what?! Good for them if that’s the case but, again… what?!I didn't see the possibility of the NWA to end up on the CW coming, that's for sure.

Knowing The CW, it'll get shifted around on the timeslot half a dozen times before getting unceremoniously cancelled.

Maybe we finally get a Mike Knox/Riverdale crossover. Knox shows up and just wrecks the place until Jughead accepts his challenge to a match.

I'll be shocked if this isn't a time buy but the cw owners are Chicago people like Billy Pumpkins so maybe there is something bigger there.

I thought you had to be ridiculously good looking to get on the CW network. Tyler Breeze should become their champion in no time.

Feel free to contradict or correct, but the territory model just isn’t applicable today, it worked for a time when the tv landscape was a lot different. The rise of cable would have forced the NWA to consolidate even without Vince McMahon taking his promotion national

If they've actually got a CW deal that's insanely good for them and for the wrestling industry. It'd be the most relevant/most exposure the NWA has had since at least the Spike TV TNA days, possibly since WCW split from it, I'm not sure if The CW is bigger than Spike TV was but I feel like it is even now.

The CW's current state is a pretty sorry one. It's technically a network channel so it's on a lot of TV's, but no one really watches their programming, especially since all the DC shows ended except Superman and Lois (and that's only hanging on with a shoestring budget). When TNA aired on Spike it had a lot more relevance than the CW has now.

I know I said that the CW is less relevant now than Spike was when it aired TNA. But the Paramount Network (Spike's current incarnation) only got around 2000 less viewers on average in the 18-49 demo than the CW did last year. And that was when the CW still had a couple of its Arrowverse shows going like The Flash. Paramount might actually do better for 2023.

As long as William J. Pumpkins is booking the NWA it won’t matter what channel it’s on. Dude should just sell it to someone that has half of a clue.

Yeah and TNA in a way piggyback off the WWE because when the first signed on with Spike was right after WWE was on it so, Spike was still pretty big. Like I'm trying to figure out the list on top 20 US networks in terms on households reached.

If we want to get technical, Spike TV basically wanted the TNA deal done and placed where it was because the relationship with WWE went south so quickly and so rapidly, it started basically a bit of a beef between the two sides to the point where Spike put Impact re-runs right after Raw ended at times. Like, it was super messy with TNA being in the middle, shrugging and taking in the heightened presence.

As someone who hasn't kept up with the NWA in years and the only time I've payed attention in at least 10 is when Cody got the belt, what's the product like and why's it getting flak/what could it do better?

Billy put the belt on Brodus Clay, who was way out of shape and beyond past his prime, on top of being a pretty shitty person IRL. And he KEPT doubling down on the guy. His confrontational attitude and booking a product that feels incredibly dated with a roster full of guys who are either way past their prime or have so many personal problems no major promotion will touch them has really soured people on the product.

I knew The CW was on the way down when they signed a deal to broadcast that shitty Saudi golf league.

As someone who went to NWA 75. I learned a few things about this company. The undercard is very talented, but often gets overshadowed and overlooked because who they book as top guys in the company. Like Tyrus being champion turn fans away and honestly Billy Pumpkins treating of fans from telling them not to watch to insulting them because they didn't like your champion. A lot of the talent are very nice and some do have talent. The booking makes hardly any sense. The who the face and heel is a cloud. Like NWA 75 I think I said about some examples on what I mean. Guys being a heel one night a face the other with no reason. Or vise versa.

It is odd to me that Tessa Blanchard is working in XPW, but somehow not here.
