I think all of us have a few people involved in making films and television that, regardless of how much love that director/actor/whatever gets, you refuse to watch any films they make.
I don't consider myself an elitist by any manner...I can watch La Strada and Corpse Grinders back to back. But there are a few film-makers whom I've learned to avoid at all costs. I even keep a list. No actors, as I've yet to find one that pisses me off enough to put on the list; but the following is a list of directors, writers and producerst that, if they're involved in a film, I simply will not watch. Ever.
Michael Bay Paul Verhoeven Joe Eszterhas Jim Jarmusch Dean Devlin Roland Emmerich Uwe Boll Lars von Trier Larry Clark Harmony Korine David Lynch
So...who's on your "Do Not Watch" list?

Agree with Michael Bay and Roland Emmerich. Good God, their movies suck all kinds of ass.
Uwe Boll's movies are actually kind of fun to watch in the "So bad they're good" way.
I'll take heat for this, but I avoid ANYTHING with Joss Whedon's name attached to it. What an overrated hack job that guy is. Just how there's so many people that worship "Buffy" I'll never know.

I didn't "get" Buffy or Firefly/Serenity either, and while I hated most of the Angel series, the last season of that show is one of my favorite tv picks of all time. Because of that, I can't quite put him on my list.

Uwe Boll's movies are actually kind of fun to watch in the "So bad they're good" way. I have to disagree on this one. I'm a huge fan of "bad but good" films...I have hundreds of old drive-in/grindhouse horror, sci-fi and exploitation films on DVD, but the two of his I watched before quitting just really bored me until I was all kinds of pissed off.

Just going by Madison's list here to start with ...
Michael Bay - He did The Rock which is an excellent film.
Paul Verhoeven - No way, Total Recall & Robocop are great films!
Joe Eszterhas - Okay I'll agree on him.
Jim Jarmusch - I haven't seen ay of his films, so no opinion.
Dean Devlin - He was invovled with 8-Legged freaks, I can't not like him as that was a ridiculously stupid yet fun film.
Roland Emmerich - His big disaster films aren't that bad, if you ignore the speech at the end Independance Day is a decent film.
Uwe Boll - Agreed, he brings nothing to the world of film or TV.
Lars von Trier - Haven't seen any of his stuff, so can't comment.
Larry Clark - Haven't seen any of his stuff either.
Harmony Korine - Again, i haven't seen any of his stuff. Although he seems to have done something for David Blaine so I alreaady don't like him.
David Lynch - Can't agree, Twin Peaks is quite good for a TV series. While The Elephant man is a cult classic. -------------------------------
Myself here's a few that usually mean I avoid the film ...
Hugh Grant - It's the same role over and over again, Irritating man. Paul Weitz - He spawned a film that became far too popular, and isn't even that good. Plus he did About a Boy which had the above actor in it a double whammy of dislike. Sean Penn - Slowly but surely this guy has taken my soul when watching films with him in. the final straw was The Interpreter in which he was terrible.

Wasnt Bad Boys 2 by Michael Bay? I thought that was awsome.
Anyway on my boyott list there is errrr. TBH i dont know many writers, directors or producers but I really cant stand Irvin Welsh. Ok Twin Town was awsome but everything else he ever done was dog poo on a stick.

Andy Dick Reality Shows. I try my best to watch no reality shows because I find them horrible. But damn it if I don't love Flavor of Love.

I've become so disgusted by tv I hardly watch it anymore-some of the things that drove me away include: Reality Tv-the only show I ever liked was the first season or so of "Cheaters"-then it went to Hell Any special featuring the VH1 "comedians" though sometimes I'll watch just to see if my suspicions are still correct-they always are Andy Dick too-he just pisses me off to no end f*** television

Though I don't know if I agree about Spielberg. At least pre-90s Spielberg. I can't not love JAWS.
Someone stick Stanley Kubrick on the list for me. Aside from a select few films of his, I've never been able to tolerate his work. Pretension ahoy.
And Jake Gyllenhaal and Josh Hartnett get my acting nods for "God, Get That Man Off My Screen." I can't watch them.

It'd be faster to list what I do watch. I don't watch much. I'm willing to sit through:
Star Trek (Original, TNG, and DS9) Soap What's Happenin'! Fraggle Rock ALF 1980s teen movies (especially those with a sc-fi or horror element) Marx Brothers movies Most 1980s cartoons Scrubs Growing Pains Wrestling MMA
That's basically it.

Reality shows ruined television for me, too. It seems like all I watch now is BBC America! I can't think of any specific directors I avoid, but I do share the Hugh Grant hate. lol His posh act has worn very thin. He's is the epitome of the one note actor. The weird thing is he has convinced many Americans that this is how all English people act and talk!

So, if you don't mind waiting, I'm all yours. And I'm in total agreeance for Kubrick, Gyllenhaal and Hartnett. Except in "O". Hartnett was cool in that. Jed Shaffer ~All these divorces are gonna cost me. RD, can I get a raise?

I won't watch anything animated. King of the Hill, Family Guy, Futurama, Simpsons etc. The last one of those I even remotely cared about was older South Park stuff, but that was only because the ex made me watch it. Won't watch any of the Survivor type shows. In all of the reality show hype that's gone on over the past few years the only shows I've ever bothered to watch were Celebrity Fit Club (with Jani Lane) and Rockstar Supernova. Not because I enjoyed the shows, but because I wanted to see Jani, Jason & Tommy Never found any interest in the huge hits on TV that everyone makes a fuss over. Never saw a single ep of Sex in the City, Friends, Office, Seinfeld or any of that stuff. Movies are hit or miss, depending on what the plot looks like. I won't discount a movie simply because of who is in it or who made it, but it takes a hell of a lot to get me into a movie theater. And for the record.. I can look at Josh Hartnett any day of the week He doesn't have to speak or act, just stand there with those big brown eyes of his and look cute.
