I wanted to wait until the series finished to talk about it, but today, it did just that. A prologue and 24 episodes, so it's a pretty approachable length, less than half the length of Iron Blooded Orphans, for instance.
And approach it, you should. Goddamn, that was an amazing right, and I am deeply satisfied right now. Easily one of my favorite Gundam series of all time, with absolutely fantastic mobile suit designs, genuinely funny comedy at the appropriate times, ludicrously good music, and the ability to make me feel like my heart got torn out of my chest when called for.
"Happy birthday to you...."

I have very little experience with Gundam but I do enjoy how just anything at all can be a subtitle in this franchise.

I really want to check this one out. I never got into IBO or its universe or mecha designs. But the mobile suit designs from this one that I've seen are gorgeous. Some of my favorites since the first season's worth of mobile suits (Gundam or otherwise) from Gundam 00.
Between this and Birdie Wing (an absurd golf anime that looks ridiculous in all the right ways), that's two more anime I really want to check out than usual lately lol.

That is one where, even though it sort of makes sense when you know the context, that it's examining a view of the One Year War as seen by an inhabitant of basically the equivalent of a little neighborhood, it still is hard to not find the title a bit silly.

I love this show, this is a great apology to the fans for the depression that was Iron Blooded Orphans.

Yay! It's good to see others round these parts share my fondness for "The Adventures of Space Tanuki and Friends." But seriously though one of the better modern Gundam series' from start to end, and without giving too much away one of the most legit earned redemption arcs in all of anime.

I love this show, this is a great apology to the fans for the depression that was Iron Blooded Orphans. Oh yeah, this is tremendously less bleak. I also feel like it maintains momentum a lot better, but on that front, they do also benefit from being like half as long.

Despite it being my favorite story in the entire franchise, I've never made that connection. That's actually kind of brilliant.
