I was missing classic USA network style detective shows. I heard this was in that vein, and peacock is essentially what USA used to be, so thought I’d give it a shot.
Pretty good. I thought Natasha Lyonne always had an odd way of speaking and raspy voice, so it took me awhile to notice she was doing a Peter Faulk impression.
So this show less Monk/Psych and More Colombo

Loved this. It's not perfect and you have to accept it's world but Natasha Lyonne's charisma carries it.
The vibe is pretty unique these days too. Weird thing to say with all the murders but from ep3 onwards there's a kind of warmth to it. Diverse little communities with most people just trying to get by and Charlie treating everyone she meets the same. Made me realise how infrequently I see regular people with intergenerational friendships onscreen these days. In particular I can't think of any equivalents to an attractive women and old loner guy making his creepy models just having a pure friendship without it going in a scuzzy direction. Although I might just be watching the wrong things.

My wife and I are three episodes in. I really enjoyed the first two. The third one felt like the writer hadn’t even watched the rest of the shows. Charlie went from human lie detector to master detective in one huge step. Still very entertaining.

Just watched knives out 1 and 2 and was surprised to see Natasha Lyonne in there with Angela Lansbury and Daniel Craig.
Is that supposed to be charly and Jessica fletcher or Natasha and Angela?
