Thought this might be fun. Let's share our pain.
When I was at school, I told another girl who loved Blink 182 that she wasn't into "real" music like me...who was then a big fan of Limp Bizkit. I thought I was so cool and edgy.
I think about that in my darkest moments

Being one of those "BRING BACK THE ATTITUDE ERA" people in my mid to late teens phase
Safe to say a lot of Indie wrestling broke me of that mindset, that and like, deep diving back to those days and realizing "Man... actually the era where a ton of wrestlers died in their mid 40s and everyone's just obsessed with boobs can stay there, I'll take the current day..."

I was really into Richard Dawkins in my early 20s. And some of his contemporaries. Cringe pretty hard at that.

You say that like I stopped having cringe moments I think my biggest one was acting in the right~ over differences of belief systems when I was in my teens. Very glad I grew out of that one.

Anyone here familiar with my post history remember what I was like when I first joined with my really cringey anti-Daniel Bryan posts and some rather gross sexists views. Glad I aged out of that.

My twenties. I wish I had kept a diary. I didn't seek out therapy at the time, but somehow grew through it. I truly feel emotionally I'm getting better with age.

I was what today we would call an incel edgelord all through my late teens and twenties. I spent what were supposed to be the best years of my life shut up in my room listening to stoner metal and reading conspiracy theory books. Ditching some of my toxic so-called friends and getting a steady job, my own apartment, and a real girlfriend finally got me over that phase. I don't look back very fondly on that time, which I consider my lost years. I'm glad my mom got to see me break out of that cycle and make something of myself before she passed.

When I first joined a discussion forum back in 2000, I made some really stupid anti-Crash Holly posts, because I thought he was corny at the time, and that being a sign of the WWF losing their "Attitude". I guess you could say I was one of the earlier examples of the "Bring back the Attitude Era" fans, even before it actually ended a year later.
Also, in a post that same year, I awkwardly confused Steve Allen, who actually died, with Tim Allen.

While I was never an incel, I did have a pretty terrible approach to women in general and spent entirely too much time fretting about it. I was a mess in general in my 20s psychologically speaking. I'm not better now (because mental illness is a life long struggle) but I'm definitely managing better over all and I no longer act like an awkward creep around women at all. Cutting a toxic friend who encouraged my worst impulses and getting a job I could actually support myself with has been a godsend.

I was THHHIIISSS close to being a “nice guy” in my late teens/early 20’s. It took seeing my brother nearly dying of leukaemia (he’s ok now. I donated my bone marrow on that day and made a “full” (he won’t ever be fully rid of it) recovery) to realise I should just focus on me and not be bothered about how others see me and whether or not I should have a girlfriend, I just need to be a good person to be happy.
Glad I did as I now have an amazing partner and apart from a debilitating back injury I have a good life.

I honestly think I was an absolute tosser up until my 30s, and even then I still did a lot of cringe stuff like for a period of about a year. I use nothing but a lot of British slang and even tried spelling words the British way because I wanted to be different and I watch a lot of British TV.
Seriously there are times I wanna slap my younger self right upside the face but you grow

Add me to the pile of guys who were pretty misogynist, self-pitying, reactionary, and incel-like in their 20’s. I was in a pretty bad place mentally in my teens and 20’s, and that led me to say some very shameful things. A combination of getting out of college (where I had way too much free time and an isolating social environment) and working a 9-5 job, coming out to myself as bi/pan, and finally being willing to go on antidepressants turned me around. I’m way better and more adjusted of a person in my 30’s than I was in my 20’s.

Many times, I do this.
I always tell myself that I should never judge my past self based on my current morals and values.
You are the person that you are based on your experiences in the past.

For me it's just many instances of stupid shit that I said, often where I thought I was being clever or funny and realized (often shortly after) that no, I was just being an idiot. Then there's all the romantic opportunities I missed due to a combination of body image issues, lack of self confidence and overthinking things.

Late teens/early 20s was so cringe for me. Loved edgelord humor. Still in the process of figuring out my sexuality. I was really messy, angry, and confused.
I'm so thankful I've grown and matured since then.

I don’t have to look back at myself to cringe. I’m well aware that I have issues and, like everyone else, had those issues in the past while being more foolish to boot. I don’t dwell much on anything earlier than a couple years ago for the most part.
