Alfred Konuwa needs to be a banned source on here. He is a professional troll trying to masquerade as a "wrestling journalist". Has he ever posted false ratings though? He obviously is extremely biased and used to only release certain numbers if they were a bad look for AEW, but I thought the info was usually accurate. He has never posted numbers that weren't factually accurate. He does manipulate numbers in a way that I would describe as incredibly dishonest. For example, take the fast nationals. At least in wrestling, they're almost always lower than the final number barring pre-emptions for weather/sports. So he will post the Rampage fast nationals and then give a week over week comparison but to last week's final number. So he is taking the artificially low number and comparing to the actual number which is always going to exaggerate the decline. And keep in mind he doesn't do that when discussing SmackDown ratings. It's incredibly dishonest.

He always posts the fast nationals for AEW and then acts as if they are the final number. He constantly does this for AEW. Not to mention that he is a disgusting troll who constantly uses the race card in order to accuse AEW and even Tony Khan of racism for each and every little thing. He's a piece of shit. Please stop referring to Alfred Konuwa for your news. Use much more reputable sources than a dumb troll.

The number isn't the best in isolation. But Number 1 is Number 1.
And the bizarre semantics of how "the ratings" are calculated. I guarantee some talking head bloviating on FOX News tripled Dynamite's net viewership, but finished like "#16 on the night." It’s not that bizarre. The important demo is 18-49 because that’s the demo that advertisers care most about and base their ad rates on. Reason being that the age group is more influenced to change their spending habits than those 50+.
Exactly. Ultimately ratings are a function of potential ad revenue as opposed to wholly accurate TV viewership. If you want the latter, then DVR+3/7 numbers are more in that category. But DVR viewers can skip ads, so that doesn't do a whole lot for the financial purpose of ratings.

I would think the ranking is more important than the actual numbers watching

855,000 bricks to be laid to construct the tomb in which the vile Tony Khan shall rest eternal. Let his precious 'indie wrestlers' be interred with him to serve as his servants in the afterlife, for they share the burden of his sins and should share the fate that he hath wrought. May unyielding stone forever enshrine these follies and may the afterlife hold nothing for those who have dared to put on so foul a show but an eternity of shoveling shit, just in eternity as in life.

Totally get it. And Dynamite is my favorite television show, so I am extremely happy it is doing well under the established metrics. I was just agreeing that I, personally, find them to be sort of random, myself.

When Friends is in the top 5 and two other episodes in the top 10 you know hardly anyone is watching TV.

Well that Kenny match did worse than I expected. Frankly, the entire Elite vs BCC feud has not done well relative to the shows they are on. The only exception is Moxley/Omega cage in Detroit.
Also, Jericho in ring promo caused the biggest spike of viewership, which is interesting.

I want you to know that these posts are the only reason I ever drop into the ratings threads.
Now let us all suck at the teat of the unconquerable McMahon empire, for surely Tony Khan is committing a divine heresy by continuing to put his Vanilla Midgets and NXT-Outcasts on screen every Wednesday.
May God truly have mercy on his soul, for the ratings will not.

Tbf they also followed up a bad Britt vs Ruby match that I wouldnt be shocked if the women match specially the ending made some fans to turn off the tv..

So ratings are relevant again this week? I'm getting whiplash from the flip flopping among AEW fans.
what's the cutoff? Under 825K and ratings are suddenly antiquated?

Honestly I'm kind of stunned anyone still cares about Elite vs. BCC because this storyline was old before it even started. Some permutation of Mox vs. Hangman has been going on for goddamn ages and Mox vs. the Elite isn't exactly a fresh dynamic past that either.

A lot of older folks aren't exactly living a life of luxury. Especially when you figure in medical expenses in this country's broken health care system. Not to mention other huge expenses like kids' college education funds, weddings, etc. They can also only lose buying power as opposed to gaining it after a certain age when you figure in retirement and having to live on social security checks.
As shitty as millennials and Gen Z have it compared to their forebears at their age, they still have the most disposable income in markets that major advertisers sell.
