Man, there’s like no action for the first half.
I always hated that they replaced rocky with that kid, but that’s how they did it?
He broke his neck on some weird spin kick that somehow led to him falling out of the ring? Zordon just randomly gave him Rocky’s powers?
The new suits and Zords were just “because”?
Hey a bunch of Thai journey is on a boat and underwater, here’s some cars to replace your giant flying mechanical dinosaurs
So did Rita and Zed just give up, I know they kept fighting new villains but I never saw them beat the old ones

I thought the villain lady was a total babe, but otherwise this movie can kick rocks.

Even as a kid I thought it was dumb they brought a kid in and I stopped watching shortly after this movie.

Hey a bunch of Thai journey is on a boat and underwater, here’s some cars to replace your giant flying mechanical dinosaurs So did Rita and Zed just give up, I know they kept fighting new villains but I never saw them beat the old ones Rita & Zedd were getting back into the game towards the end of Zeo, so their scene here didn't really make complete sense.
As I understand it, the Turbo movie went through a lot of changes & rewrites, most of which was basically for the worst. Zedd & Rita were presumably going to be the bad guys of Turbo at first, which would make sense given their return in late Zeo & the monsters in the sentai version being organic again. Then after they changed that to a new villain, there was suppose to be a scene of the her forces destroying the Zeo zord fleet, thus necessity of new powers. I'm guessing budget restrictions got in the way of filming that. Billy was supposed to be the creator of the Turbo zords but his actor quitting the show obviously put a stop to that. Heck, I think they wanted all 5 of the original team to be captured & brainwashed but only got Jason & Kim back.
Also, there's a dropped subplot of Bulk & Skull moving to France to become detectives there. Instead, we get a convenient reset button of them & Stone getting back in the police force. Which in turn would be dropped come the Turbo tv series.
Turbo (both film & show) was a lot of dropped balls, many seemingly obvious mistakes that could've been avoided. Like the theme is high octane race cars & yet a big chunk of the film is spent on a slow moving ship?

The Zeo/Turbo transition was so poorly handled, that some high-ranking fans on the internet actually fooled a good percentage of the fanbase into thinking there was an Australian-exclusive promotional mini-serial that tied up the loose ends called "Scorpion Rain", which revealed Zedd attempted to attack Earth with Serpenterra and managed to destroy the Zeo fleet. Tommy and Katherine snuck on board Serpenterra, plant explosives on it, and cripple it, forcing it to crash land on the moon and cause Zedd to finally give up.
After it was exposed as a hoax, one of the fans who came up with it ended up as the story editor of Wild Force and treated it as canon when he wrote Forever Red

I thought the villain lady was a total babe, but otherwise this movie can kick rocks. Hillary Shepard Turner was then (and probably still is now even if she's 60s). And just for the hell of it, here's her in one of her two "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" appareances.

After rewatching the lead up to the movie, the movie in bits and pieces and Turbo the series.
Zeo deserved to be a movie first. This would've kicked so much ass. Jason was already in place for this film, so it could've worked having all 6 of them in the Zeo movie.

Not as hot as Elizabeth Banks as Rita Whats-her-name or Naomi Scoot and Becky G. Okay maybe she is, but I just want to point out some positive things about the Power Rangers Cinematic Universe, even if they don't share canon.

After Naomi Scott played Kimberly in the Power Rangers movie and Jasmine in the live-action Aladdin movie, I wondered if she might have a list of girls I crushed on in my pre-teen years and was using that to find her next acting gigs.

Just need her to play a live action Fifi Le Fume now.

Was there any truth to the rumors that Justin came about because Big Bad Bettleborgs was doing great in the ratings and Saban came to the conclusion that: MORE CHILD PROTAGONISTS was the answer?

Shoddy movie and first half of the actual season aside, the second half of Turbo was great once the new cast of Rangers was added and its finale remains one of the darkest episodes ever for Power Rangers.

Was there any truth to the rumors that Justin came about because Big Bad Bettleborgs was doing great in the ratings and Saban came to the conclusion that: MORE CHILD PROTAGONISTS was the answer? That's an interesting theory. I wonder what the gap was between its filming schedule and release date. It couldn't have been that far into Zeo for the change. Beetleborgs started in the fall of 1996 and this movie was released in the spring of 1997. I wonder how far back the filming was. I will say that I initially thought Justin's character was inspired by that Fred character from MMPR The Movie, who mainly served as a character for the child audience to identify with as he wasn't a character on the TV show. Plus, it's not like the boy did much after that, at least in the states because that film was shot in Australia.
