Before I even read the link about why he was invited back, I thought-"I could swear they banned him from future shows." I think it was probably more than just he apologized to everyone except for Gisele that was the reason he was allowed back. I'm sure it's a regular promoter they want to keep favor with or they have other wrestlers they don't want to alienate. The wording also made it seem like poor Rick tried his hardest to make amends but Gisele just wasn't having it.
Not that it should be a reason to bring anyone back under the same circumstances, but it's not like Rick is even a highly desirable guest. He and Scott have done so many autograph signings. If you don't have an autograph or photo with him by now, it's your fault. I was a huge fan as a kid. Probably the first wrestlers I met were him and Bill Kazmayer at a hotel and I do still have that signed paper. But it is super disappointing to know how he and Scott turned out and they've been like that for so long.

"We want everyone to feel welcome" says the con the was ready to give a guy who was never relevant a ZERO con ban for harassing another guest and making an entire community feel unwelcome "never relevant"? Hate him all you want now and deservedly so, but come on. He was a member of one of the most influential tag teams of all time. He was EXTREMELY relevant up to around the mid to late 90s.

Yeah, let’s not say anything silly. The fact he and Scott had such significance in wrestling history made people feel worse about this whole situation.

Yeah, a lot of people were influenced by The Steiners in terms of tag team wrestling, also we can't just act like Bron Breakker being his son and being pushed pretty hard as a potential future star for WWE didn't give him some more current relevancy, even going as far to reference his WCW Chucky standoff at Halloween Havoc. That being said, he's blown any chance of that continuing sky high, who would have thought of the Steiner's, WWE would shun Rick the hardest when all was said and done...

We weren't getting 1999 Rick or Big Poppa Pump, we were getting the freaking Steiner Brothers. And then Rick revealed his bigotry. The Steiners were relevant big time, they were an all time great tag team.

Like, yes, Scott is by far the bigger name, but Rick definitely had his hot periods, between the tag team, the Varsity Club storyline, and the Scott feud during the nWo stoyline. He's a has-been, not a never-was.

Yeah, the Steiner Brothers were incredibly relevant and influential as tag-team wrestlers. Yeah, Rick was always "the other guy" to Scott when they were singles wrestlers, but he had a good enough singles career in WCW, winning a few NWA and WCW singles midcard championships.
If he wasn't relevant, his being a transphobic piece of shit wouldn't be as disappointing as it is
