So I ran across a targeted article earlier about a new signing to Shady/Aftermath, one of the few people signed by both Eminem and Dr. Dre, in company with 50 Cent. As a big Em and 50 fan, this peaked my interest a bit. Read the article, which had a music video for this song called Up Down (Step & Walk) by Ez Mil, a rapper from Las Vegas, with Em saying this is why we signed him. I was skeptical from the start of the video since at first it seemed like he was just gonna be another basic trap rapper, but this dude very quickly changed my mind. I don't keep up with much current music, so I don't know if anyone else is doing anything like this, but he has a real unique sound and flow and I can definitely see him breaking out if Dre and Em actually invest.

I think Eminem has walked some of it back, but he used to be very dead set against modern rap, so I guess it can only be a good thing for him if he has overcome his biases. That, or maybe he doesn't need to personally dig something to see where it has its place.
