Wait a minute... this doesn't sound like something Malakai would say... I'm only on the clock in Dynamite ratings threads because I don't want to have to come up with two of those a week. The irony that Malakai has mostly been on Collision But then it's kind of on brand because he's mocking the show he isn't on lmfao

It's almost as if a Saturday night show was a bad idea

It's almost as if a Saturday night show was a bad idea Warner wanted another show and idk where else you put it Like Thursday? You can't, Tony won't go up against the NFL, you do Tuesday you do the Wednesday Night War thing again and no one wants to see that discourse again It's actively been a good show and helping wrestlers develop with more time, but they had to expect this with the competition that'll come during prime sports season and are expecting it.

The timeslot is going to be a problem going forward though Again if they were fully aware of what would happen with competition from WWE and College Football/other spots, I would hope this is what they were expecting to get, ratings wise. They will have basically half the year where this isn't an issue but like WWE with MNF they'll also have the half of the year where it is.

I mean people want to be out and about on Saturday nights when the weather is nice especially when its still light out when the show starts.

I'm gonna go ahead and assume everyone at WB and at AEW was fully aware that a Saturday night spot would be tough some weeks, between WWE and UFC big cards, college football, etc.
None of the alternatives are great, so you take what you can. As long as that's what they planned for, it's not a very big deal.

Yeah, I don't think anyone at AEW or WBD thought Saturday Night was an ideal night, but the least bad night.
Sunday - NFL game days. Yeah, Collision going against college football sucks, but there are at least parts of the country like the Northeast that aren't really big into it. Hell, Raw still does generally okay against the CFB National Championship Game. But no one is watching Collision over the Super Bowl.
Monday - WWE Raw
Tuesday - Return of the NXT vs AEW "wars". Plus having back-to-back days for shows sucks for anyone who appears on both, especially when you factor in travel.
Thursday - AEW has a cordial relationship with Impact (who also has a relationship with other AEW partner promotions like NJPW and AAA) and it'd be really shitty to pull that and force Impact to move to yet another night so they don't lose a significant portion of their 100k viewing audience. You'd also have the same situation with travel as doing it on Tuesday. Either day would pretty much force a harder brand split and separate championships so they don't burn out talent who go on both shows. Either that or give up live Collisions and tape them on other days. There's also Thursday NFL games and even though it's usually crappy football, people still watch them.
Friday - Smackdown

I get why it isn't, but I wish it was on Friday nights just so I wouldn't ever feel tempted to watch Smackdown.

As long as that's what they planned for, it's not a very big deal. TV networks don't have a particularly good history of being rational about these things. As always, it's the comparison of what Collision costs ($50m a year) and how it performs vs whatever else they would put in that slot.

Outside of SmackDown, putting Collision and Rampage on the same night would be kinda weird
