Honestly given it was against SummerSlam kind of better than I expected.
That said I'd still probably just get ready to make the show against Mania a clip show.

Big win for the Rammers!!!!
Honestly, given the extenuating circumstances of both Summerslam and a UFC PPV happening at the exact same time, this rating is a complete anomaly. The most interesting part for me is that there's always been this notion that the overlap of the WWE and AEW fanbase is pretty minimal, but Summerslam obviously had a pretty profound effect on Collision live viewership, here.

Maybe it's gone too far the other way but the idea wasn't it was minimal more that it wasn't a sizeable majority overlapping. This suggests 400k will always watch Collision, 200k overlap and another 200k are potential viewers of Collision but it's not clear if they'll watch WWE. Dynamite has another 300k if generous that could potentially watch a big episode. All that said you hit the most important point, Rampage > under half a Milly Philly.

One thing we've learned so far is Collision ratings can go wildly up and down. A .20 seems like the norm and with .27 as a ceiling when they have a big match and .13 as a floor when the snow is either on a holiday or against super strong competition.

You'd have to think that they were prepared for and expecting dips on PPV days. I doubt this rating is a shock or something to panic over.

That's all WWE PPVs heading to Saturday's then. That's already the status quo.

I'm guessing it's going to have significant DVR viewership since yeah, it wasn't going to compete against Summerslam in live viewership.

Frankly that’s a bit better than I was expecting given that it went up against Summerslam.

Be interesting to see how Collision fares against PPV’s that aren’t the “big four.”

Be interesting to see how Collision fares against PPV’s that aren’t the “big four.” still imagine not quite well. College football and such. And granted this year for WWE may be an anomaly with them traveling abroad for PLE's with some frequency, imo, besides wrestlemania, "the big 4" is starting to lose a bit of distinction.

This is all risk they knew about when they launched Collision; as long as it can hold its reliable baseline, I think it'll be fine. This kind of interest-driven programming where they have a baked-in audience is perfect for the time slot, because you have a regular, insistent fanbase who come back week after week. Almost all the major networks are owned by the same companies that own major studios, and they don't want their own products competing against one another, which is why they usually just throw filler and movies into these sorts of places. But Collision gives them something they don't own but can directly benefit off of and which has its own developed market ready to tune in. That does come with competing against other event-based programming, since sports, WWE, and UFC are the things other networks run for the exact same reasons why WBD wants Collision in this slot, but the people who made these decisions already know that's going to happen.
