I saw an interview with Trish Stratus recently where she talked about wanting to do a cage match for the first time which got me wondering who are the best/most high-profile wrestlers never to compete in a cage match? Including variations like HiaC or Elimination chamber.
Limited to US based wrestlers of the last 40ish years because cage matches are less common or non-existant in many places/eras.

This is tough because between regular cage, hell in a cell, chamber, war games or whatever other variant you'd expect almost every high profile wrestler to have been in them at some point.
Has Gunther ever been in one? I don't think Ronda Rousey has.

It'll probably be prominent women wrestlers and male ones with less than 5 years experience.
Even then you got guys like Breakker who were in War Games.

Davey Boy Smith? Ron Simmons? Pretty sure, but not 100%, Hart Foundation and Bulldogs used to do cage matches on the loop. And Ron Simmons had a cage with Butch Reed at the original SuperBrawl.

Side question: do they even have cage matches in Japan? I'm not sure that I've ever seen one. Maybe in FMW/IWA or something?

It's such a hard question when you're going back to territory days, because of the lack of documentation. For example, I don't believe I've ever seen any record of Hercules being in a steel cage match in the WWF, but if you factor in other promotions he worked for, who knows?

Side question: do they even have cage matches in Japan? I'm not sure that I've ever seen one. Maybe in FMW/IWA or something? The deathmatch promotions have had them, often with some other insane stipulation attached, and AJW (which was generally more open to gimmick matches than most traditional men’s promotions) and IWE used to have them occasionally too, Rusher Kimura was called the “king of the cage match” in the seventies because of his IWE cage matches. In NJPW, AJPW, NOAH etc. though they’re pretty much unheard of. This may be an urban legend but I’ve heard that their broadcasters used to discourage them, so they’re just not really done.

I was about to say Davey Boy was but then I remembered it was only him climbing the cage at Summer Slam 94 and not being a participant in the match.

I'll throw in my vote for Nicholas Cone. Former tag team champion. Retired undefeated in pro wrestling. 1 title, no defeats, no cage matches.

I don't think Yokozuna was ever in a cage match.

I don't think Yokozuna was ever in a cage match. I think he was in one with Bret at a 1993 or 94 house show Also how could we forget about Davey and fall brawl though it is overshadowed by shockmaster

I did find that he wrestled Tatanka as Big Van Walter in 2008 Elimination: Full Force (Marshal T, Mr. Excellent, Steve Douglas & Tatanka) defeat Legendary Gladiators (Big Van Walter, Damon Brix, Joe E. Legend & Kaio) WWPW Grand Prix Finals 2008 - Event @ Riedlandhalle in Tuggen, Schweiz Feel like I also need to track down and watch Rottweilers vs Ringkampf from 2017. I'm terribly curious about Low Ki and Gunther née WALTER match up

I also swear Yoko did a MSG show with Diesel in a cage and it got released on a WWE DVD but I might just be making that up

TAKA Michinoku has never fought in a cage match as far as I am aware.
