You know what my issue is with this and the New Vegas canon? It's that New Vegas doesn't have a canonical ending like the other Fallout games(minus 4 but it seems the canon is BoS end). Sure in the others some events may be different from other playthroughs but the end is always the same. In one you stop the master, in 2 you destroy the enclave, in 3 you destroy the enclave etc. So the issue the show will run into is now making one of NV endings the official ending which will just make fans of the 3 non canon endings upset for investing time into those endings. In conclusion America is a huge ass country and bethesda could have set this story anywhere else and not had to deal with fan boy rage. Especially since Bethesda wants their post apocalypse world to stay post apocalypse even though the west for the most part has rebuilt and has functioning societies I mean the sane option of the New Vegas endings would be House winning, also it makes the most sense story wise and his character is far more interesting to keep around than anyone else in the game. Yes Man + Courier is for the player who just wants to win and doesn't make a lick of sense. Caesar's Legion winning would be poor story telling as they are glorified raiders, (It would be like the Master or Enclave winning) NCR winning feels like it could work but also a bit soft for Fallout, also I like the idea of them being spread to thin across the Mojave. The other factions are kind of irrelevant or too few to really matter, possibly the Great Khans control the wider area in places beyond Nevada You never know they could throw us all a curve ball and say the Boomers bombed Vegas back to the stone age, hence why it looks so desolate when they show it at the end of the season.

I knew there'd be a Cazador nest stirred up with the airing of this show, hee.
NV loyalists should have doom-prepped. The obv solution to not canonizing any ending was to clear the board of everyone.

Didn't think I'd like this as I'm not a big gamer but binged it all in a few days. Slightly preferred it to TLoU due to some of the dark comedy and outlandish characters. Probably the best post-apocalyptic fiction I've come across. With the success of this and TLoU there's no longer any stink about game adaptations and Red Dead Redemption and Elder Ring telly shows can't be far behind.
Noticed that Fallout and Amazon's other big homegrown success (The Boys) have the same theme. A single corporation having too much power can lead to mass death and destruction. Big Jeff Benzos must be having a wry laugh when the ratings come in.

I'm halfway through the season and love it so far. The show looks amazing with those barren wastelands. I love the Ghoul and Lucy characters. Not feeling Maximus as much yet. I can't tell yet if we're supposed to sympathize with him and he'll help out the heroes when they need him or if his dickish moments are hinting that he'll ultimately screw them over because he wants all the glory for himself.
The comedic elements work so well. It's a very tricky thing to pull off in what is otherwise a very serious life or death situation. If it works it can be great (The Suicide Squad) but if not it can be embarrassingly bad (Madame Web). I think they've pulled it off perfectly here. The tone reminds me of The Suicide Squad quite a bit actually. Fun characters. Good action. Really funny moments. Interesting/over the top creature designs.
I'm surprised I've avoided the games. I've heard the name Fallout but never really looked into it more. Post-apocalyptic sci-fi is probably my favorite genre so quite strange that it's managed to slip through the cracks for me all these years. After I finish the final episodes I'm going to look into the games. Leaning towards getting New Vegas right now based on comments I've seen.

I thought it was fine to good until the finale, which I thought was great and gave me huge hype for the eventual season 2.

I have almost 2000 hours logged in Fallout 4.
Season 1 was a nice surprise. Not exactly binge material imo, but I had no expectations so no complaints. They really captured the personality of the games and I'll for sure be there for season 2.

Love the series but doesn't capture my experience with the game, which is spending 200+ hours building settlements and customizing my own vault and doing A LOT of electrical wiring.
