Yeah I'm having a hard time comprehending that he's gone too. It's sort of what happened when Nipsey Hussle died. Someone who's made such an impact on me passing, someone I saw from the ground up in the field. It hits different. Damn. Nipsey is a really good comparison when you factor in someone who was constantly reinventing themselves and always seemed on the cusp of getting even bigger in a different way and being the king for people who don't go about things standardly. Seeing that LA Knight promo last night was like watching the Russ 20-20-20 game.

Looking back, I wanna remember some of the fun goofy things Bray did.
For example, his brief (I think just one match) masked gimmick of 'Axel Mulligan' in NXT.

I really appreciate how he and Cody's promos shined light on Wyatt and Funk in slightly different ways. Cody's on Funk helped people who didn't grow up with Funk know how important and influential he was outside of kayfabe. LA Knight's promo helped people continue to remember how special Wyatt was and he blurred the lines within it too. Both beautiful legends.

LA Knight's promo helped people continue to remember how special Wyatt was and he blurred the lines within it too. Both beautiful legends. Yeah like don't get me wrong, the four of them are all completely different people and you can't really compare this sort of thing to each other but it makes me think about it in some ways. Nipsey is/was a complete legend in this neck of the woods and was huge here, very influential to pretty much every rapper worth a shit who made it but he never got that billion dollar success he deserved, even though it was obviously right around the corner. Same with Bray, he was huge as the fiend and his cape fear esque gimmick but unfortunately was really held back by either Vince, booking or having too creative of a mind in a field that sometimes can really try to keep those people from hitting the stars. All of them became legends but never hit the type of recognition I feel like they deserved but even without that, that shows how incredible it is that we even got them at all. People like them usually go on to rule the world and we were blessed enough to have them stick around instead in some of our favorite media mediums. Don't take your risk takers for granted.

LA Knight's promo hit deep, and I love how he managed to keep kayfabe through it. WWE made the right choice in having him main event vs Balor.

It took me a bit to process this. I was never a huge fan of Bray, but I definitely thought he was interesting. That was especially true during the original Wyatt Family era. I've been trying to stay off social media at least one day a week and Thursday was the day this week. I got an alert on my phone from FB as I was drifting off to sleep and I just was going to clear it but decided to look at it and then started scrolling and I saw a weird meme about Harper greeting him at the pearly gates. My heart sunk.
I hate times like this. I'm a lapsed fan anymore at best. The only things I really watch WWE related are documentaries and WM, with the occasional match or segment that people are talking about being great or terrible.
My heart goes out to Bray's family, friends, coworkers, etc.
Am I forgetting someone or is this the first active competitor with WWE to die since Benoit? I'm going to feel bad if I am forgetting someone.

My nephew was just starting to get into wrestling via Youtube clips around the time the Fiend gimmick was starting. The Fiend became his first favorite wrestler. He was captivated by him the way I'm sure a lot of us were with Undertaker/Kane/Sting/etc when we were that age. I think it was Christmas 2020 when his main wish for Christmas was a Fiend action figure. It was hell to get one though. The whole family was scrambling for weeks, checking every store and every website but it seemed to be out of stock everywhere. Thankfully somehow someway one of us got a hold of one in time.
When the QR code stuff was going on this time last year I was explaining to him what it all meant. He was so excited during that month or so period when all the viral stuff was going down then for his return at Extreme Rules. Hell, I was too and I'm an adult! I remember one day he was watching one of the fan-shot videos of White Rabbit playing at Raw/Smackdown with all the dark lights and burst out laughing when my sister walked in and was so confused what this creepy video was her 7 year old son was watching.
Just a week or so ago we were playing a Bray v Uncle Howdy match against each other on 2K23 and I was telling him I had heard rumors that Bray might return soon and face Cody (his favorite today) and he was so excited. I saw him today and it's tough talking to him about what happened. When I went through the Eddie/Benoit stuff as a fan I was a good few years older than he is now. It must be difficult for the younger fans to really comprehend stuff like this.
The tribute last night was great. I held up well enough for the 10 bell salute but then the video package got me. That might be one of the best ones they've ever done.

The Getting Over Podcast played the Miss Teacher Lady promo in their remembering Bray episode and I just started crying, it was that damn good.

I used to rewatch it a lot just because Bray's promo and the crowd reaction, atmosphere, everything was just... incredible.

I’m in a very weird place this morning as I wake up. I’m at times wanting to get away, to do other things because I’m not sure lingering is healthy. But I also want to linger because I want to savor the memories and smiles. I also worry for those who are… suffering right now and being available for them helps me focus and helps me move on. How are you all doing today? You OK? I think I got a lot of it out of my system last night. I was driving when I got the news, got home at an ungodly hour and slept til noon. Was still trying to process everything yesterday, and then bawled like a toddler watching the first bit of SmackDown last night. It was kinda cathartic, just letting everything out.

My favorite Windham story was Miro's. Like he had such a great memory that he remembered Miro as this random-ass extra from the FCW days and treated him like they knew each other for years.
Just sounded like such a kind, giving soul to his peers and it's so unfair someone like that is taken from the world at such a young age.

How are you all doing today? You OK? Been kinda mentally scattered at times since Thursday, had to run errands today and spent a good minute digging through a freezer looking for something my grandmother asked for, before I realized I was looking at the wrong namebrand entirely. Think I'm still kinda in shock.

I've seen reports that Reigns gifted the Blue Universal title to Wyatt's wife. Anything to that?

The first Firefly Funhouse vignette, for the sheer WTFery of it. Prior to it, we just had weeks of vignettes with scary music and showing what we would come to know as the Funhouse Friends puppets without much context. So, seeing kids show host Bray after weeks of those vignettes was just nothing short of crazy.

I haven't seen it in the usual wrestling news sites, just on a couple of places I've never heard of before, so I'm leaning towards no. If I see something different in the days to come, I'll be sure to mention it here.
