I have a hard time believing this'll end up Styles/Knight but if it does, that is a bummer. Styles hardly inspires much of any feelings since he returned, except laughing at the outfits. Styles flew all the way to Perth just to interfere in that match and brutally attack Knight. I’d be shocked if that wasn’t the Mania match. They're definitely going to be in the same match, but whether that constitutes a singles or as part of a multi-man, I don't know.

I don't even like LA Knight, but wouldn't Gunther be a better opponent than Paul? Knight gets the big win he needs right now after floundering in the main even scene, Gunther gets toppled as IC champ, Gunther can move onto Cody Rhodes while Knight fends off challengers from the midcard, etc.
They already have history, too:

I like AJ and everything... but having Styles vs Knight for jack-diddly-shit at Wrestlemania feels like the wrestling equivalent of putting LA Knight in tupperware and shoving him into the back of the fridge where he's forgotten about until that one day when you are really hungry and remember that container but you open it to find it rotten because you waited way to long.

My prediction has been that the US Title match at Mania was going to be a multiman ladder clusterf*** and the ending of the EC fits perfectly. Paul/Orton/Styles/Knight have all been feuding for months, plus a few others that need to be on the card?

Counterpoint: AJ Styles most of the time can do a really good job playing ot his opponents strengths and making them look amazing. Look at the AJ Styles vs Shane McMahon match at Mania 33. I can see this being a sleeper success to showcase LA Knight.

Also the dude's already crazy over, he really just needs some actual successes already, not another showcase.

Knight vs Styles at WrestleMania is a great idea. Knight can learn so much from working with AJ and Styles will make him look like a megastar.
LA Knight benefits more from this match than Styles does.

Knight doesn't need a showcase. If his age is that big of a factor, you gotta strike the iron sooner or later. Dude better win the MITB at least.

I just don't think AJ is an exciting foil for Knight in any real way. It's going to be a fine match with fine promos. But nothing that really sets my world on fire.

I had a dream the other night that the WM match was gonna be Styles/Knight but right when it was going to be official, Nakamura showed up out of nowhere, kicked Styles right in the balls and basically said he's not done with him.
There's no f***ing way they're ever going to do that again but I'd love to see the two of them have one last shot to have a great WM match together. Styles is still fun to watch in the ring but it feels like Knight could be doing a lot more.

I am not as wild about LA Knight as a lot of people are, but yeah, this is probably going to be something of a filler match. It's not the worst assignment he has had, far from it, but I do kind of imagine he's in a holding pattern right now, even though I'd have probably had him be the guy to unseat Logan Paul for the US title.

LA Knight benefits more from this match than Styles does. That line makes him sound like a green rookie. Knight is 41 years old and has faced dudes just as good as Styles on many, many occasions. I doubt that AJ could teach Knight anything that LA doesn't already know. AJ hasn't exactly set the world on fire at 'mania, I doubt he's going to do so this year.

I mean compared to where he was this time last year a match against AJ Styles at Mania is amazing... (Litereally he spent his last February losing to Bray Wyatt in Dark Matches and Kofi Kingston in his one televised match...)

LA Knight benefits more from this match than Styles does. Knight has been wrestling for 21 years; he’s not some rookie fresh out of training. Not sure what AJ Styles in the twilight of his career needs to teach him.

A Knight v Styles singles match is busy work to get both guys onto the card because they're both too big to not be on it. Which does say good things about how Knight's been elevated given he wasn't even on the show last year, but I'd still prefer the multi-man option given that it would allow for others to fill the space.
