This incident has really brought out some of the weirdest takes from some people
For the sake of my own sanity, I'm just gonna simply say no it shouldn't, and it won't.

can it be done? yes.
should it be done? no, the anti-impact adverts worked because they were short time spots that didnt interrupt either impact or dynamite shows and for a limited time. the evil authority figure has been done to death in multiple wrestling companies now (wwe had what 23 years of evil authority figures?) and it's beyond played out in those multiple companies.
wrestling needs to do fresh things instead of continually rehashing it's greatest hits.

no, for all of Vince's flaws, he had charisma that enhanced his character. Tony comes across like an awkward Jack Tunney

I hope he does just because of how funny it would be for me as a viewer.

Could he become Shere Khan? I mean, the Tale Spin version literally was an evil general manager.

Could he become Shere Khan? Only if it's the version from Tale Spin.

I already thought it was a possibility and this just helps make the transition easier. Tony Khan had a rare non-announcement appearence in a backstage segment with MJF and Cole. MJF also tried to lead a thankyou Tony chant at Wembley after the show. I got a horrible feeling TK is slowly establishing an onsceen presense and relationship with them both for a reason. When the bidding war of 2024 angle starts heating up I think Cole will win the title via screw job. Then the story becomes if Cole was in on it or not. Can even refer back to him helping Tony with previous announcements. The eventual justification of having to betray MJF because he thought he was leaving him writes itself. I don't think he'll go full Vince and would only do it to help establish a heel acting for him but few seem able to resist the lure of making themselves an onsceen character. I really hope they don’t do this.

He’s the same age Vince was in 1985 over a decade before Vince grew into his TV character so while not now who knows what the future may bring?

I do think one day they'll fall into the "let's do a heel authority figure story I guess?" trap. I just hope it's at least different from any we've seen.

I really doubt Tony has it in him. He strikes me as a mix of too nice, kinda meek, and just generally too awkward to ever pull of a dastardly heel. Not that I want AEW to be any sort of WWE retread anyway.

At best maybe he could use someone as a ‘commissioner’ and keep his character off screen but as an on screen talent himself, he has like reverse levels of charisma (unless it’s pre-recorded)

Mr. McKhan.
Now he just needs one babyface to go up against him.
Probably FTR Bald.

As an on-screen character, Tony is FAR closer to Linda than Vince. But can tony take a stunner as good as Linda?

I doubt it. Typically the person either needs to be an egomaniac, desperate, or have a leech pushing them to do it. I don't see any of that in or around TK.
