I was just reminded of this in the Virgil thread. The Beverly Brothers were a fairly notable team from 1991-1993. At the very least they didn’t drag down a really hot tag team division that only really started dwindling in 1993 or so.
But then Beau Beverly left the WWF after their European tour with Cagematch showing his last match as a tag loss to the Bush Whackers on April 25, 1993.
Rather than repackage Blake Beverly or do something else with the character I don’t think the WWF ever even bothered to change his ring gear. It’s a shame too because Mike Enos, the man behind the gimmick, was a vey solid, if not particularly dazzling, talent.
Blake Beverly looked VERY out of place sticking around until August 1993 and wrestling at least 43 matches. Blake went 1-42 with the only win being against Jim Powers on the June 28, 1993 house show in New Haven, Connecticut.
I kind of wish the stars aligned and this was in 1994 after Owen’s heel turn. The two worked a house show and dark match together. If Owen was a little more established I could see him putting Blake over as a rib on a spot show if nothing else.
Blake actually challenged for the tag titles one more time as his last WWF match. He and Tony Ulysses jobbed to the Steiners in under 4 minutes on Wrestling Challenge.

I'm a fan, enough that I butchered my way through a video of his team with Dick Slater. A good hand who will be known for being an answer to trivia questions including who was the first tag team to win PWI rookie of year and wrestling when Scott Hall made his WCW return.

A good hand who will be known for being an answer to trivia questions including who was the first tag team to win PWI rookie of year and wrestling when Scott Hall made his WCW return. I remember when he debuted on Nitro. Earlier, Tony said Colonel Parker had a big surprise-a new talent. I thought it was Razor and super disappointed it was Enos. One of Blake's last matches, maybe his last, was against Razor at the Summer Slam Spectacular. I think he came out to his ring music. I wonder what made Beau leave, I guess the writing on the wall? They were doing jobs to Bushwhackers in six man tags with Little Louie and Tiger Jackson. They were always a pretty good extra team but I wonder if how they manhandled jobbers led to WWF taking some star power away from them.

He had a pretty good match with 123 Kid on an ep of RAW in July 1993.

The Shaker Heights Spike was one of the most awesome and insanely dangerous finishes ever.

Never cared for the Brothers Beverly, but I really thought Enos had something in WCW. For sure, he's a hidden gem for me. I've wondered if it's just me who saw it.

I liked the Bevs, but I completely agree on him having something in WCW. Did a rewatch of the 1996 WCW B-shows a few years back and Enos had promise both as a singles and tag guy. Side note, Joaquin Wilde/DJZ and I hit it off during Mania 35 weekend just before he signed with WWE. He's a hip-hop producer on the side and pre-pandemic in 2020 was doing a project where he was remixing a different wrestling theme each week and having different MCs rhyme over it. He and I collaborated on this remix of the Beverly Brothers theme -
