[I live 45 minutes from Toronto and The Golden Knights are my team, so there ya go. quote author=" Baldobomb-22-OH-MAN!!!" source="/post/17376009/thread" timestamp="1694173281"] Being from Ontario I can saying being from Toronto you probably deserve to be bood. Yeah it always makes me laugh when WWE would put on a show outside Toronto and think a heel would get heat dogging on the Leafs like they're not the most hated NHL franchise in the rest of Canada or something.[/quote]

OK...how about Fonzie turning, er, staying heel because he secretly bet on Sabu winning Barely Legal?
Deep cut: World Class, Mighty Zulu joins Larry Sharpe's stable after losing one match to Bam Bam/Crusher, while previously resisting Sharpe's offers.
The Pez/Shaska Whatley turn had odd elements. He was cool with Jimmy Valiant until he called him the best black athlete? And despite that, he just so happened to have a pair of scissors that day?

I may be misrembering this but I think back when Jericho was billed as to being from Manhasset and Benoit from Atlanta, someone asked Vince at some press conference type thing why Christian was still billed from Toronto and his response was "But he's a heel!" This would have been around Wrestlemania 20. And yet, just a couple years earlier, Christian had gotten heat at Wrestlemania X8 by dumping on Toronto and insisting on being billed from Tampa, where he had moved.

Not trusting WCW Hogan (Sting's failed heel turn).
I mean, yeah. It's ingrained in WCW's history not to trust Hogan.
And unfortunately this one involves Punk, but there was no way I was rooting for The Rock over Punk. Zero reason to.

Yeah, but that's a little different "I'm glad I got out of this crappy town" and making a big deal in a promising for heat is a classic. Just suddenly 1 week every Canadian wrestler's hometown is based on their alignment with no announcement, no link between them is just weird.

Sid Justice being a heel for fairly eliminating Hogan from the Rumble.Bad News Brown for not liking snakes. Ted Dibiase for buying Sapphire gifts, and Sapphire for accepting them, not wanting to face Sensational Sherri, and leaving Dusty Rhodes. I think with Sid Justice, we were suppose to boo him for not helping Hogan eliminate Flair so it would be down to those two and see who the better man was, he just snuck behind him and eliminated him. If it came down to Hogan and Sid and Sid eliminated him, Hogan would then shake his hand and leave it at that. The problem is the ending was poorly executed. Not to mention Hogan was named the #1 contender for Flair's championship, when Sid was the runner up and had a legit grievance for being pissed. I think with Ted Dibiase buying Sapphire, it meant she had a price and Ted Dibiase was a dick anyway, so her now aligning with him made her guilty by association.

Pretty much all of heels when they do actions outside the ring, the heels have a good point but they go overboard in their actions thereby making them more in the wrong than the faces are even if the face started it.

This week's Dynamite had a great example.
You have Roderick Strong, who's annoyed at his friend favouring his new friend, noted scumbag MJF.
But the part that gets me is they show a video about Roddy's life, looking after himself while having parents who were addicts, his sister left, pro wrestling was his only escape.
Um... boo?
Had Tony even say it was all manipulation, you need a bit more than that after seeing all that.

I know he's a big idiot but:
Ryback saved John Cena multiple times from Shield beatdowns so he was perfectly justified in being pissed off that Cena never did the same for him.

When a heel tells audience their local sports team sucks, and it's true.

To be fair her promo to start that angle was full of slut shaming (and sorta hypocritical considering by that point she was also in a relationship with a major male star) and has aged really poorly as a result. I still don’t remember her run as divas champion with any fondness, for how whitewashed her legacy now is. When she wasn’t portrayed as incapable of winning without her goon Tamina, she was involved in convoluted storylines. After having her devise my best all the women in the main roster, you had a perfect scenario in the rookie Paige as the new challenger. And they still managed turn it into a channel changer. AJ Lee’s run was an entire hot mess. lol

I am not sure if this would be wrong to discuss because there are two sides to the whole thing but Muhammad Hassan being right about his oppression is something that I can't boo him over. The funny thing about his first vignette before his debut was that he seemed more like he would be a face but of course, the crowd had to cheer "USA" when he and Daivari came out. So in a lot of ways, I can't say he was unjustified in his anger for his mistreatment.
Then he got moved to Smackdown and changed his gimmick to an Arab terrorist and his anger went out the window.

Muhammed Hassan just pointing out how people of his origin have been stereotyped ever since that horrible event that will be 22 years ago tomorrow.

So in a lot of ways, I can't say he was unjustified in his anger for his mistreatment. Then he got moved to Smackdown and changed his gimmick to an Arab terrorist and his anger went out the window. He was meant to be a heel from hte start. His words were all written in a confrontational/accusatory tone of the audience itself. Using second person pronouns like you at the audience. Not to mention Daivari immediately yelling in Farsi, they knew what they were doing. The entire gimmick on Raw was you don't boo me because I'm a massive cheating asshole, you're booing me because you're racist. Also like "you might be right but that doesn't mean you're not an asshole" also applies... and like... the dude was Italian >_>
