I love classic Disney and forked out for the blu Ray classics collection of 57 films for two hundred odd quid so this would be awesome to have but that price range is far far to much for me to even think about.

Yes and yes, but unless these were all 4k discs that actually looked like the original film prints with minimal digital tinkering, what’s the draw?

Not so much anymore, but ridiculous collectors sets like this used to be fairly common here in Japan. It was also very common to find them, years later, at second hand stores for like 5% of the MSRP.
I remember getting the Alien/Predator set (with all the Alien, Predator, and AVP movies along with a frankly unbelievable amount of physical extras (including an HR Giger-inspired poster frame) for something like $10 USD.
So, I’ll be on the lookout for this at Book-Off sometime around 2035. 😂
