I recently watched a Typhoon match where Lord Aldred Hayes talked about him betraying Hogan when it was acually the Bushwhackers he turned on. Did I miss something?
Certainly there are many other examples of this.

It always felt that they wanted Tugboat to be a heel, which would mean no longer being around Hogan, but Hogan didn't want to actually film a betrayal angle and then have to work a program with him.  But back to your question: Danny Davis "literally handing" (in Gorilla's words) the IC belt to Randy Savage and using that to fuel Davis' "banned for life" angle and the WM3 match with Santana and the Bulldogs. In February 1986, Davis was just an ordinary referee, still many, many months from starting to favor the heels. Anyone who watches the match sees he's calling it totally normal, with no intent to screw over Santana. The only thing he was guilty of that night was wearing khakis instead of black pants. |

The wrestlers involved, commentators and some fans get the Goldberg/NWO/fingerpoke of doom timeline wrong a lot.
I've seen Nash and others say the plan after the fingerpoke was for Goldberg to go through the NWO one by one and eventually get the title back but he smashed his hand into the limo which ruined the plans. The limo thing happened in Jan 2000 though, not Jan 1999. Nash and Hogan both turned face around March/April 1999 before there could be any proper "Goldberg kills them all and gets revenge" conclusion.

The timing of Royal Rumble entrants at times. One especially notable example was Rumble 2002 when Triple H came out, did his whole entrance, then had a brief brawl with Austin before the buzzer went off for Hurricane's entrance.

I dunno if it's an official thing, but I believe it's called Titan Time. At least, that's what Bruce Prichard has called it. |

He claimed that Hogan didn't visit him in the hospital, and thus he decided to align himself with Jimmy Hart and Earthquake. Timeline-wise, I am not where this inquiry took place he was referencing. I know they did a TV injury angle before SummerSlam 90 where Bossman ended up replacing Tugboat at the pay-per-view. |

The Tugboat heel turn was probably the best thing for Fred's career at the time. Even though he's such a really good guy in real life, there's only so much you can do with a character whose main attribute is doing a toot toot hand motion. The tried the Hogan friend gimmick and the character wasn't over enough to make it work. If he had turned on Hogan it may have done more harm than good. Giving him a more quiet turn with Quake and the Bushwhackers brought him into the tag scene where they remained in a pretty good spot until late 92.

After WrestleMania 5, he was a referee again. On Superstars and Challenge, the commentators said that he was on probation and had to give up his wrestler's license. There was a Bad News Brown match around that time where he got on Davis's case for officiating fairly. |

Minor nitpick, but there's a point where Michael Cole (I think) says "For years, we've seen Kane show no emotion" or somethingike that. Kane hadnt even been around for a year at that point.

Also and maybe more egregious was Hefner referring the finals of the Mania 4 tournament, you know, the guy who put this whole tournament in motion? Apparently Prichard attempted to bring this up, but Vince said "No one cares pal" and Vince must have been right, because it wasn't a storyline point and no one has ever complained about it. |

And it shows how little Vince cares about making sense. TBF, it was DAVE Hebner, aka the "good" twin. Moot point though, as at this point they did not acknowledge Earl being an actual person on TV at least, they just said they fingerprinted the real Dave and that was that. (WWF Magazine, however, did write a story about Dave and Earl, and how Earl was the troublesome brother who used being an identical twin to get Dave in trouble all the time as they grew up.) |

It is kind of funny though that when Hogan got hurt, Tugboat coordinated a nationwide (if not worldwide) letter writing campaign to coax Hogan back to health, but when Tugboat got hurt, Hogan was like "Meh, he'll be alright brother. The Bossman can watch my back, Jack!". Tugboat was positioned more like a Hogan superfan than an actual friend. Had Tugboat turned on Hogan, it would've been more justifiable than Savage or Orndorff. |
