Was also in probably Matt Smith's best Doctor Who Christmas Special.

I liked him as The Prophet in ESO's original main questline, too. RIP

RIP. Mainly remember his iconic performance in The Cook The Thief His Wife And Her Lover, one of the most loathsome villains ever put to screen. The role could almost seem too ridiculous, but Gambon imbued it with utter sincerity, playing both the petulant savagery and the faux-gentility to perfection.

I never understood why people cracked jokes on HP having two Dumbledores. When the first actor died, they had to recast because it’s too important of a character.

When you give one of your first auditions for the stage and you impress Laurence Olivier, you got the goods. Gambon Forever.

I posted this quote on my FB page a little bit ago, one of Dumbledore's last bits of dialogue from Deathly Hallows that I've loved.
Rest in Paradise, Michael Gambon.

Layer Cake is a sometimes overlooked movie because British gangster films had been done to death in the years prior but Gambon is great in it as crime boss Eddie Temple.
Given the age of most of the adult HP cast members giving the films a rewatch will soon be like watching the post-show credits of Dad's Army where someone always points at the screen and says, "Dead, dead, dead, oh... he's still alive I think let me check google... dead..."
RIP.

R.I.P. to an Irish acting legend.
I'll always remember that time in The Fantastic Mr. Fox when he once used a line that lives in my head rent-free ("That's just weak songwriting! You wrote a bad song, Petey!").
