I haven't really noticed anything like this about AEW promos in general, outside of MJF doing this stuff...though even in his case, for example the extended segment with Samoa Joe was more about Max projecting confidence but then not being able to hide that he's still pissed after all these years at the way Joe disrespected him, which Joe only spurred on with his "So what's the problem...kid?" delivery.
Otherwise, I think AEW just tends to do more quick burst promos as a way to get hype up for a match, or to introduce a particular wrinkle that might play into the match, since the matches tend to be where and when they further their stories and character work the most, the longer recent MJF segments notwithstanding.

I would say that AEW does have a real issue with having their wrestlers dunk on each other rather than actually cut promos I would also agree that they often give their babyfaces heel shit to say That said, I cannot believe this is an entire-ass thread about this, and I am sure Jay White's beard is totally real and he has full intercourse with dozens of women a DAY and has a really expensive car but it's in the shop right now which is why he can't show it to us I guess it can't be the blueprint for every feud/angle but I'd actually rather like to see a more UFC style deal where two guys/groups/whatever just talk shit to eachother, without hard-line defining who is heel or face. Just let the fans decide. Some people like Chael Sonnen (me!), some people like Luke Rockhold. I think the only reason the heel and face dynamic is even important anymore is just because it's predetermined, and the outcome is controlled, so they're able to have that good guy finally wins moment exactly when they want. If it was a shoot, anything could happen and the fans would know that so they would just pick whoever they like better for other reasons.
