Looking at the roster page, I am amazed at all the talent that they got!

Yes, and there's a strong arguement that it's the greatest collection of talent on one roster of all time.

Name wise sure, but a lot of those names they have are past their prime.

Yes, and there's a strong arguement that it's the greatest collection of talent on one roster of all time. I can’t agree with that at all. At one point Austin, Rock, Taker, Michaels, HHH, Foley, Angle, Edge & Christian, the Hardy’s, the Dudley’s were all on one roster. And there’s probably some big names I’m forgetting from that point as well. At no point is any roster in todays wrestling topping that.

For my personal tastes, absolutely. I think AEW as it currently exists is the single best professional wrestling roster of all time. And that's compounded by working agreements with Japanese and Mexican promotions that only expand the talent pool for the supercards.
WWE's roster from about 2001-2003 was also insane, and its current roster (especially when factoring in NXT) is amazing, so I can totally understand why people who are not as workrate-oriented may prefer those rosters, but AEW right now is the pinnacle for me as a wrestling fan.

In terms of overall talent levels I think AEW beats out that era. While WWE had a terrific roster on surface level, it dropped off like a cliff once you start going down the roster list. But I'm a person who judges based on in-ring talent over anything else. So for me, the talent level of the overall roster is insane. Like, you have two 18 year olds who are going to be very special. So current and all time lists for me as well.

Currently? I think so. It has a great mix of talent from all sorts of backgrounds and experience. I think it's at least the best overall roster in wrestling since early 10's WWE.

I think from a pure in ring standpoint they might. The match quality of the PPVs are pretty insane these days.
If you take in everything else such as promo ability, characters, name recognition etc then that's a more difficult argument.

Currently? For my personal taste absolutely yes. I'll add that they use the wrestlers I like much better over all than WWE does, which gives it the duke. WWE also has a fantastic roster but I feel like a lot of the time it's just Sisyphus pushing the boulder up the hill.

Yes, and there's a strong arguement that it's the greatest collection of talent on one roster of all time. I think that'd be March 2002 WWF. The AEW current roster is an all-timer though.

Possibly the greatest roster for promos ever. Not overall. I agree with chaz' choice.

Think it's comfortably the best currently, and definitely one of the best ever, it's absolutely stacked virtually everywhere.

Wrestling is stacked with so much in-ring talent and AEW still easily blasts through the competition. It's got Danielson and Omega, two of what being generous to the rest of the world you'd call two of the top five wrestlers going right now. But then its depth chart is outrageously stacked down to the many people they're barely utilizing. They casually throw away great matches on TV and then PPVs deliver like crazy.

Very easily the best and possibly the best of all time.In ring WWE can't touch them and even early 2000s WWE May have had bigger more famous personalities, they still don't come close to the in ring abilities of current AEW bar Kurt and Shawn.

I think them and WWE are pretty much on par in terms of contracted talent. The difference is that AEW gets access to high-level international talent from outside the company, sort of like WCW used to although AEW pushes them more meaningfully, so that gives them the slight edge over WWE when it comes to stacking their cards.

I think they have the best roster in the world today. I think you could argue from a technical in ring perspective they could have the best roster in North American history. The quality of even undercard guys is silly high. But I think from an all-round package (in ring, star power, drawing etc) then WWE early 00's is probably the best. Big shout out though to TNA 2011. Maybe my favourite roster. AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Sting, Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, jeff Jarrett, Austin Aries, Bully Ray, Bobby Roode, James Storm, MCMG's, Chris Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, Abyss. Heck even had the Bucks, Nigel and Okada passing through

Yeah that's one (WWE 2002) that's also in this conversation. Literally every active western wrestler who was a name was in the WWE at that point. The other one is Late 80s JCP/WCW. Just top to bottom quality throughout the entire roster.
