Can't wait to see the winner's press release. You know the meme where the guy gets a medal, sprays the champagne and then it pans out and shows that he’s actually in the bottom position and over celebrating? That, basically.

They would've debuted Brian Pillman Jr. but that would overshadow everyone else
Gotta save it for next week to keep momentum

Any speculation on Cody Rhodes' "major" announcement? What could be a major announcement in NXT? Another Dusty Classic? Would that be a letdown to be hyped as a major announcement?

I still think there is not outside the realm of possibility AEW beats NXT
Problem is while it would be a "victory" that attendance issue is becoming a real sore issue they need to fix

Tony is copying and doing the first 30 minutes as commercial free now and also doing a Buy In.
I'm curious who Undertaker will choke slam.

All this star power is unnecessary. All they need is two hours of Ludwig Kaiser dancing to Kraftwerk in his underwear.

All of this announced for tomorrow and they still haven't announced the most important part yet.
Which Women's Breakout Tournament match will be on the show.

I don't think it's a slam dunk victory for NXT as some make it out to be. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if AEW won. And win or lose they definitely do need to work on their attendance.

I still think there is not outside the realm of possibility AEW beats NXT. I don’t see how, though. Usual time slot, jammed full of star power (some of it linking from Fastlane previous week) combined with a brand already on an actual high. Like, the matches sort of feel like the least important part and there is more “_____ is here” than there should be but there’s no real reason why that wouldn’t be the case. EDIT: Also to add, I don't remember a single time in recent memory outside of that one Impact that went against Raw where Hogan debuted where a show that's moved from its usual timeslot or channel has done as good or better when it wasn't (Smackdown to FS1, the many pre-empted Raws and Dynamites, the other times Impact went to Mondays etc).

Yeah surely NXT wins comfortably, they already got a big rating last week, it's their regular night and despite the fact the cameos sound boring outside of Asuka (the mere sighting of a wrestler at a show does nothing for me, years of WWE guys coming out, standing on stage, waving then leaving at anniversary shows genuinely made me angry) the star power really should be enough to give them the win. How much they can really take from that win I don't know, it's very Mr Burns trying to bring in ringers to beat Shelbyville and the optics of bringing in some like the Undertaker to a developmental brand to win a one off ratings war are quite something.
I'm glad AEW have just booked a strong wrestling show, even if I was an avid watcher of both I know which one I'd be picking based on the two cards. The wrestling on the NXT card does look good but I wouldn't be able to shake the feeling it'll be overshadowed by the old guys who won't be around the the coming weeks.

It’ll be like winning the inter toto cup for those that remember that vaunted trophy. This situation is a rare occurrence so neither side should embarrass themselves but making it bigger then it is.

And Intertoto Cup style match where the two top guys from each company face off would both be really fun and a total political nightmare.

This happened last year and AEW won handily. AEW Dynamite does a lot better in the demo than NXT does, so there’s a very good chance that Dynamite still beats them in the demo even if NXT wins the viewership. I posted it a couple of pages ago but in recent weeks there was an NXT and a Dynamite with the exact same number of viewers but AEW’s demo was almost 50% higher.

NXT and Dynamite are also both going against playoff baseball and opening night of the NHL season. That's going to eat into live viewership. Though with how much craziness both shows are packing into tonight, I think both will more than make up for it with DVR numbers.
