From a perception point of view can anyone actually win this?
WWE - it's their usual night and they are sending their biggest star and other top acts. They're expected to win for those reason so if they do win what is their to crow about?
AEW - Have stacked their card to try and compete but if they do win they "just" best WWE's developmental brand.

It’s just a bit of fun, I think. It’s not like anything is really at stake here.

Do DVR Recordings count because I'm not sure if you are going to get the people switching over every 30 seconds anymore.
As I'm in the UK, I don't have this problem but if I did, I'll pick 1 show and record the over whilst avoiding spoilers (Which is easier than it's made out to be)

Yeah, even if Dynamite comes close in viewership and demo to that collection of talent, that’s a massive boon in confidence for AEW. I still don’t see that happening but that’d be the logistics here.

It's going to be like 2019 all over again where I watch Dyanmite live and NXT On Demand the next day.
I said this in the Dynamite live thread, but wrestling fans are eating good tonight. Both shows raising the stakes to almost ludicrous degrees makes fans the ultimate winners.

Shida and Asuka are wrestling on the same night on National TV for the first time since both were signed for their respective companies. That alone is pretty damn wild. EDIT: Should clarify, Cagematch said this would be the second time but also almost the first time in 4 years that it happened which is still pretty cool. For all my talk of matches lacking build, people here and in the AEW section are (hopefully) going to have fun tonight and man, after the tonnes of arguing and discourse here and in the AEW section, we can just have that for one night.

I can’t imagine Dynamite not being close or ahead in the demo. The week to week demo is too big of a difference for NXT to crush them in the demo, even on a different night.

That's a fair point, I think I see it more as AEW have nothing to lose I guess. WWE have gone a teeny weeny bit OTT 😅 Hopefully two good shows come out of it anyway.

I have to say while I post mostly in the wwe section I don’t understand the whole one versus the other crap that happens with the two sections. Why can’t we just watch the wrestling we like and don’t watch the stuff we don’t like ? That’s surely not difficult.

If TKO really DID cut Satan McMahon's grapefruits off, it'll be at least a little easier.

NXT and Dynamite are also both going against playoff baseball and opening night of the NHL season. That's going to eat into live viewership. Though with how much craziness both shows are packing into tonight, I think both will more than make up for it with DVR numbers. For context: the games both wrestling shows are up against is Game 2 of the Texas Rangers/Baltimore Orioles series (exciting Rangers team vs. Top-flight Orioles) and Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Chicago Blackhawks (NHL opener featuring the hotly-anticipated debut of Connor Bedard, a highly touted prospect drafted by Chicago).

For what it’s worth, I think they’ve integrated everybody into the show in a way where people are being elevated and not overshadowed. Maybe they didn’t need LA Knight as a ref but everything else has felt appropriate.

Yeah they did good in using the stars to enhance the guys who are around NXT every week.
Basically the opposite of what RAW reunions usually do.

Flipped over out of curiosity. Wasn't my thing. Kudos to those who enjoyed it.
