Not sure if this should go here or other wrestling. After watching NXT No Mercy I really would like to get a current upgrade of this game. Same type graphics.
With the entire roster from all 3 brands, an updated create a wrestler.
Keep the same play style, especially how they sold injuries in the game.

I think No Mercy was a great game for it's time but massively shows it's age if you actually go back and play it now. Parts of it are nearly unplayable with their SMASH ALL BUTTONS gameplay with no real indicator that you are actually doing anything. Dig Dig Dig, Dig Diggity Dog ... socko.

A lot of it holds up, but yeah, that doesn't, nor does the limited match types (as evidenced by how negative the reaction was to Fight Forever being skimpy on those at launch, even if DLC has helped matters) and how bullshit the cage match kinda is. It also obviously doesn't benefit from its age in that you miss out on a lot of modern moves. Lastly, being unable to edit wrestler movesets, etc, just their names and appearances, is limiting compared to many modern wrestling games, as is how the CAW options have some hard limits like pitiful mask selection.

There are tons of community mods out there for the game, new skins, moves, roster.
It has a big following if you dig diggity dog about for it.

I've always held the feeling that they should have done an updated port of No Mercy as a way to bring WWE content to Nintendo's consoles instead of trying to scale down the current version of 2K to make it work on the big N machines. (EX: The disastrous port of 2K18 on the Switch.)

Dig Dig Dig, Dig Diggity Dog Break it! I haven't played it in a few years so I don't know how good the game is, but I do know that I can't handle the N64 controller like I used to.

I do miss those n64 wrestling games. My buddy owned all of them and many of our high school hours were spent playing them.

All the crazy mods and updates to No Mercy in the homebrew scene is a big reason why the game has the large following it does. The ingenuity of these devs is incredible.
The closest to an official WWE game re-introducing that style would be the GameCube's Day of Reckoning 2 and even Smackdown vs Raw 2006 and 2007. They're still very old games by today's standards, but a lot of fun. AEW Fight Forever also gets close to hitting the mark, but lacks some polish and can be rough around the edges (and also obviously not a WWE game). There's a good core system in there and I'd like to see a sequel refine the idea there and have some more match types, as well as have something resembling a competently-made CAW mode.

Everytime I hear No Mercy that's not wrestling, I think of this.
