What a hell of a journey this man's had.
A few years ago, he got fired from WWE for going into business for himself, had a serious alcohol problem and untreated mental health issues, made himself into a pariah, and nearly died from said mental health issues.
Now? He's gotten treatment with the help of DDP, fallen in love, completely rehabilitated his image, and is in a much better place mentally, physically, and emotionally. And that all lead to tonight where he won his first championship in a major promotion when he and Ricky Starks beat FTR for the AEW World Tag-Team Championships.
Seeing the man fall to the rockiest of rock bottoms only to come out of it on top of the world. He did the work and got the help he needed, and it's paid off in spades.
I tip my hat to you, Big Bill. I hope you continue to soar to new heights.

Big fan of Large William ever since his Cass days, always thought he had potential. Unfortunately, he had to hit practically rock bottom before he found it but he has worked hard personally and professionally and now it is all paying off.

Big Bill is the most improved wrestler in all of wrestling. No one comes close.

He's someone I never remotely imagined would be a champion when AEW started, let alone even be in the company. But after he cleaned up, he busted his ass and reinvented himself and improved SO much. I was rooting for him to fulfill that heir to the throne deal they had with him in Impact, but they never pulled the trigger so jumping to AEW when he did was the right move. So happy for the dude!

He overcame his demons, he now can cut a great promo, he's an insanely good worker, and he more than earned that title win tonight. He looked legit emotional before reeling it back in and mouthing off to the crowd lol
Amazing how he never won a tag title with Enzo but now between the two of them, Morrissey has lapped Enzo repeatedly. So glad he was given another chance, and it's paying off super well

Really happy for him. Dude really went to a bad place and he was really close to being one of his generation's tragedies, seeing him get it back together is great. I don't know if this is his ceiling with AEW, but even that is way more than it seemed he was going to get when he was threatening to kill Joey Janela in a locker room. Wrestling is littered with awful sotries, so any time you see a big turnaround and triumph like this, it means a lot.

He came off as incredibly likable in his interview on RJ's show also, if anyone was interested in something like that. For the topic though, he's just improved so much as a person and as a wrestler that it's great to see him get rewarded (and Ricky as well, for that matter).

Dude, if you told me after that confrontation with Joey Janela in the locker room that not only would Impact take a chance on him and then AEW would take a chance on him and not only would he excel in both, he’d be a champion in the second biggest company in America, I’d be like “Pfft, sure, and Eli Drake’s going to be one of the biggest stars in WWE. Get out of here!”
So proud of the dude, he’s been a total blast since entering AEW and I’m glad he’s been rewarded for it.

Credit to the dude for turning it around the way he has, both in-ring and backstage. His title win last night was a legit feel good moment and not just because of Starks winning or FTR losing.

It's really great to see people who have made so many mistakes come out the other side. Not particularly a fan of his as a wrestler but good luck to him.

Glad he is well liked and has turned his life around i just don't know what the praise for is as I have not seen him do a single thing really in AEW besides be muscle which is exactly what he did elsewhere. I also would have preferred the tag team with Cage over Starks

I think it's a good time to mention anybody who hasn't yet should really check out his Impact run. It was such a good run (and another reason why I think wrestlers in a rut should go to Impact to find themselves)
Bill has been treated fairly well in AEW and has made the best out of being in a situation that was scrapped (the firm)
More importantly of all, Bill is an example of how it's never to late to turn your life and career around

After Big Bill chased after Janela a few years ago, I wrote him off as a lost cause. I'm so glad I was wrong.

Big Bill is the most improved wrestler in all of wrestling. No one comes close. The way he's improved, in & out of the ring, over these last couple of years in Impact & AEW, after how bad his life was going just a few short years ago, has been great to see. Really happy for him winning the Tag Titles!

The way Huge Willy has gotten his life back on track, and also reinvented himself professionally, has been very impressive
He is really fun to watch these days.

That night he had that seizure at a show, I was afraid that he was sadly locked on the road to becoming yet another wrestling tragedy. He deserves all the credit in the world for just getting his life back on track, let alone getting his career back as well.

I really wish Impact had an easy-to-find upload of his promo at the 2300 Arena at Philly. It came right from the heart and it legit made me tear up.
Also, fun bit of trivia: Bill and Jon Moxley were roommates when they were both in NXT. Wonder if Jon put in a good word for him to get him that tryout as MJF's ringer.
