I miss him. Honestly, I get why people get released, that not every promotion is a wrestler's forever home, but AEW does lose something when it gets rid of the Marko Stunts, the Leva Bates, and indeed, the Fuegos, same as it lost some of its original identity when Cody walked away.
I hope Impact or NJPW or the like give Fuego a shot.

Fuego is only 27, and seems like he's got a fantastic attitude and a great idea of how to market himself.
Also seen him have some great matches on Texas Indies.
Imagine he'll show up in Impact or be back in AEW someday, but even if not I reckon he does well on the Indies.

Looking at that video thumbnail, I realized something: He's such a nice guy that it's probably really hard to actually find a "you're fired" type Angry Tony Khan Face.

Im shocked Impact hasn't given him a call yet
But when AEW DARK fizzled, I figured the writing as of how was gonna be on the wall for him
He's great though, and only continues to improve, I wish him the best

I miss that stretch where they had Fuego on the Sammy G vlogs while Cody was doing his Friend-lympics, Charlie vlogs were there, that was a fun time. It's been forever since I've watched Sammy G vlog so I dunno how it is now but I'm so nostalgic for that run hahaha.

Its crazy that he replaced Joe Alonzo in that role and now Alonzo is with the NWA and Fuego is a freelancer

Bit of a clickbait title but I guess that's what you have to do on YouTube.
I was never particularly invested in Fuego but it's a shame wrestlers like him didn't have a place anymore after Dark and Elevation were cut.

Thumbnail is hilarious. Figured he’d do more with what a big deal they made about his signing.

Fuego is a guy that fell through the cracks. Like, he's probably never going to be World Champ. But an over with the crowd underdog face you can send out to almost win against the heel is always going to be useful. He did everything AEW asked him to do. Always been super professional, constantly improving in the ring and his physique. He put Hook over like a million bucks. He managed to get the Tornado DDT over as a legitimate killer finisher.
I think three things kind of counted against him: 1)He was a Cody guy. Once Cody left his crew were featured less. 2)He was too linked to Sammy, being Sammy's best friend is great, but if Sammy no longer needs a best friend because he's a dastardly heel, then your booking options are going to be limited. (though I'm surprised they didn't do Sammy vs Fuego when he turned heel) 3)I don't think Tony Khan really wanted to sign him. Not in a bad way, like "Fuego's trash", but if you remember the timeline: -AEW goes back on tour, so most of the wrestlers that were being paid per appearance during the Daily's Place era are told that their services wouldn't be required, including Fuego -Apparently around this time guys like the Bucks and Cody were telling TK that he should sign Fuego because of how over he was, TK didn't believe them, due to not having crowds at Daily's and thinking it was just internet memes -AEW needed wrestlers at short notice for a show with a crowd, the very next week, and booked Fuego -Fuego gets a fantastic crowd response -Gets booked a couple more times. Still fantastic crowd response -AEW signs Fuego
So yeah, I kinda think Tony signed him because he had to, and failed to capitalize on it.
I think he'll be back eventually, he's young, he's hungry, he's still improving and he's still got people in the company to go to bat for him.

I really liked when Cody teamed with him at Dark tapings as Fuego Dos.
I mean, he was never going to be world champion or a main eventer, but I liked him. And him getting officially signed to AEW with IRL good friend Sammy Guevara giing him his contract was a real feelgood moment. I hope he gets a chance either back in AEW or somewhere else down the line.
