'Twas a long time ago, longer now than it seems, in a place perhaps you've seen in your dreams.
Based on a poem Tim Burton wrote while working as a Disney animator in the early 1980's, The Nightmare Before Christmas has stood the test of time.
The film had a limited release October 13th, 1993 before its full theatrical run on October 25th.
It doesn't matter if you see this as a Halloween movie or a Christmas movie? It's still a classic.

I did not dig this movie when it came out, but gave it another chance 10 years later and loved it. Such a great, beautifully shot (animated? Not sure what the proper phrase would be) flick

One of my all time favourites, it’s a tradition for me to watch it on Christmas Eve along with Muppet Christmas Carol. Just a wonderful piece of stop motion animation with a quality soundtrack from This is Halloween at the beginning to Jack and Sally’s sing at the conclusion

There's a huge Jack Skellington statue in one of my neighbor's yards every time I pass by the area on the road.
