Halloween 3 has gotten a cult following as the years have gone on
I don't know if people would say it's "GOOD" but people have found ways to be entertained by it, and Danhausen tapping into it seems to be working

It was always a decent movie... it's biggest problem is Halloween 2 exists.
If it didn't set the stage taht Halloween is the Michael Meyers Series it would have been better received.

Very fine movie, it was rejected for not having Michael Meyers in it, and that led to an objectively worse world. I'm sure down the line Halloween H20 or Halloween (2018) would have been made, but can you imagine a world where we don't have f***in' Halloween: The Curse of Michael Meyers? Way better world.

Halloween 3 is good when taken as its own thing and without the context of it being one thing when the franchise it was a part of was something else. Now, there are a billion Halloween films, so it gets to be its own thing.

If Halloween 3 would've been called anything other than Halloween 3, it would have been considered one of the best horror films of the '80s straight away. Instead, it took a long long time for people to recognize how great it is.

It's thre second best in the series following the first. Almost all the others are complete trash.

Season of the Witch is my favorite film in the Halloween series.

My bar for horror movies is very low, I like all the Halloween films, even still I would say 3 is leagues better than 5, 6, Resurrection, Kills & Ends.

I mean, it’s fine. I think it’s one of those things where over time people have come to appreciate it more but I’m not even sure that it’s a good movie, it’s just not as BAD as people say. For me, it’s still not in the top 5.
For what it’s worth, I think people will talk about Ends in the same way in 30 years. I got to see it at its first test screening in July 2022, so I wasn’t exposed to too much of the Michael vs. Laurie marketing and thought it was a good movie that at least tried to do something different.

Danhausen being a Halloween 3 mark is perfect.
When I first watched the Halloween movies I skipped 3 because I knew there was no Myers and it wasn't really considered part of the series. A few years later I got the itch though and put it on. It's a lot of fun. It's mostly considered silly/campy but there are some genuinely creepy/atmospheric moments too, particularly in the beginning.

Even outside of it not being a Halloween film, which lets face it there are a lot of bad ones, I'm not a fan. Just a lot that kinda makes no sense to me as I watch it. Just a weird film. Still better than 80% of Michael Myers Halloween films that followed it. With H20 and the Reboot/Sequel (the first one) being what I'd consider good.

Count me as a fan of Halloween 3 but then it is Nigel Kneale.
It's Halloween IV which surprised me by being a lot of fun.

I'm shocked no one yet has mentioned that Halloween 3 also features one of the best villain speeches ever put on film:

Halloween III ain’t the worst film, not when those Halloween films with the ancient cult exist.
