Does this match happen before MJF breaks the record? And if it does who gets screwed by outside interference?
Kenny has Don's stable against him. MJF could get screwed by The Kingdom and Strong!

I'm torn on this. On one hand I think you could get a lot of drama out of a MJF vs Omega match where the title and longest reign is on the line. Although Omega hasn't been near the title since he lost it, I think you could believe that MJF's reign is potentially in peril and I know I'd believe Omega has a chance of winning.
But MJF vs Omega is one of those rare blockbuster first time matches. Should it be thrown out on a random TV show with little build to it? With it being 13 days and MJF already booked next Dynamite, it'd have to be on Collision on the 28th. I think the match is bigger than a random Collision and you could get a PPV buy rate out of it.

It sure feels like MJF has several challengers for the belt at once
- Wardlow wants to kill him
- Jay White stole the belt as Bullet Club Gold harass him
- The Mysterious Devil Figure and goons are in play
- Samoa Joe has made his intentions known that he believes he is the future world champion
- He's fired Kenny up reminding him he has just under 2 weeks to break his record
- Roderick Strong is gonna come back into the picture soon to try and "befriend" him for Adam's sake, not sure if this leads to a title program but it leads to another angle in the picture
It sure feels like it could be a stacked Eliminator Tournament for Full Gear if this is the route they go, but I'm curious if they would actually do Omega vs MJF straight up. It feels like MJF wouldn't bring up the 13 days without reason. Even with Omega caught up in his own storyline and MJF his... there felt like a definite reason to do that tonight... we'll see where it ends up

Kenny vs. MJF is wya too special to run it now. Give it some space and the room for amazing build. There's nothing gained by rushing it onto TV when it stands as one of the biggest first time matches they can put on.

If they can learn to slow build, Revolution.

I love all the different things connecting to MJF right now.
I think you can do MJF/Omega at Revolution honestly. With it being Stings final match it's already been cemented as a huge feeling PPV. May as well put the biggest match that's yet to happen on there.

I love how they are building multiple opponents for MJF and also you have the fact he’s probably going to have to choose between the Kingdom and The Acclaimed as partners against Bullet Club Gold.
My guess is the mysterious ninjas come into play somehow here. Would like them to hold off on Kenny v MJF for a few months if possible and give it a proper build….

Totally agree this is way too thrown-together for such a big match. I think ideally MJF needs to lose the title first (to either Jay White or Swerve I guess) since it really doesn't need it.

That felt like a breadcrumb moment last night. The first time in the history of the company these two have come face to face. Put a bookmark in this, let's come back to it a few months down the line kind of thing, I reckon.

It's likely happening 10/28 on Collision as both Kenny and MJF are being advertised for it which is much more in advance than usual and it is the last show before Max passes him.

Rushing that match would make me question if MJF has actually re-signed or not.

Rushing that match would make me question if MJF has actually re-signed or not. They could also just want to give Collision a ratings boost or see what the ceiling is for the show during football season. Plus there's a reason to do it now (the longest reign in history - similar to when the Usos fought the New Day as they were about to break the record).

I understand the reason but New Day vs. Usos was a match we’d seen dozens of times. MJF vs. Omega is a first-time dream match type scenario that you’d imagine they’d want headlining a big PPV.

This is one of those matches that needs a heavy heavy build. Just throwing it on TV in a week or two with the minimal build would do it a major disservice.

I cannot understand doing such a huge match with such little build. It's not like they weren't aware of MJF's title reign length so if it is so important to get the match before the record then shouldn't it also be important to build that match properly?
I don't truly see how the story changes much from Omega standing in the way of MJF breaking the record, or Omega trying to take back what is his after the record has been broken. I'd much prefer a well paced story of the latter, than a rushed one of the former.

I'm fine with it. It should be a ton of fun. And TK knows the stories both have coming up. It could be the case that this is the time that makes the most sense and he wanted to do it before Max passed him to take advantage of the moment.

My guess is the mysterious ninjas come into play somehow here. Would like them to hold off on Kenny v MJF for a few months if possible and give it a proper build…. Think it'll play into the annual #1 contenders tournament they usually do around Full Gear: you've got MJF being explicitly called out by Joe, Wardlow, and Jay White, you've got Kenny expressing his interest in getting the belt back, plus the whole Cole/Strong/etc. drama (though lots of that depends on Cole's actual health situation)...that's a good chunk of the bracket, right there, if that's the way they want to go. But it's still a smart thing: MJF's at nearly a year with the title, and more and more challengers are piling up. If they want to pull the trigger on him losing it any time soon, or if they want to give him a definitive babyface moment by having him survive the gauntlet that appears to be waiting for him, they've more than set the stage for either option.

MJF fending off all the challengers established, but ultimately losing the belt to someone like Swerve (or even Adam Cole, assuming the ankle gets better) would be a nice way to cap off MJF's title run. He finally gets a moment to be a valiant babyface by taking on all comers, only to be blindsided by a guy being opportunistic.

I don't think you need an elaborate storyline to set up Kenny vs MJF. It does seem a bit rushed, but then we got Omega vs Danielson like barely a month into Bryan's tenure with the company.
Though I agree it'd make more sense to headline a PPV or a special themed Dynamite than a random Collision.

You could probably give it some sort of unsatisfying finish or even do some shenanigans before the match (like the Don Callis family or the masked goon ninja squad taking out Omega) which means they have something for a big rematch down the track…
