Mets City Connect jerseys have arrived: I appreciate a lot of what they're trying to do, here (city asphalt, bridges, homages to the NYC subway system - seriously, the inside of the caps are lined with the multi-colored line pattern and the purple is for the 7 line that runs through Queens), but it's too drab for me. Gonna need to see them on the field before passing final judgment, but probably not going to be in the market to buy one, despite my hideous "buy way the hell too many fitted caps" habit. Still, it's not bad, just doesn't thrill me. Nike’s reliance on black, gray and other drab colors is really getting old with this project. I get what they’re going for and there’s a lot about it I like. Hopefully the Mets stick with the white pants to keep it different.

The Washington Nationals, fresh off beating the Dodgers in a series, just came back and beat the Astros in extras

If Adbert Alzolay is closing the game with the Cubs up by only 1 run, he is going to give up a hit that travels around 400 feet, Cubs lose game 1 of the double header to the Marlins thanks to this idiot.

Stinky White Sox, scoring runs in the 9th to avoid being shut out. Should have just rolled over - a loss is a loss but yet another shut out loss would at least be hilarious.

I think the Yankees ought to be put on Judge on the IL, even if he is not hurt, a little mental break at the very least might help.

And in the night cap of the double header Cubs win! Shota Imanaga with 6 good innings of 2 run ball, currently 3 - 0 with a ERA of 0.84 with 23 strikeouts with begin his season. So far that looks like a outstanding signing by the Cubs!!
Kyle Hendrix on the mound tomorrow...uh oh.

So I was working retail behind Gate One in Busch Stadium and Swerve Strickland threw out the first pitch. Based on that he probably would have had better sliders than Miles Mikolas yesterday.
Oh, and Fredbird came out for his pregame show to The Bird by Morris Day & The Time and it was the completely uncensored version where he says “the Wright Brothers can’t f*** with that”.

The Washington Nationals beat The Dodgers in a series and now have a chance to sweep The Astros
In other news it might be officially time to worry about the Astros...

Imagine being a Texas based team and getting swept by the Braves. Couldn’t fathom it! Adolis with another game winner and Kirby Yates saves the day yet again. 1-2, better than nothing!

(Language warning)
Something needs to be done about the umpire situation.

(Language warning) Something needs to be done about the umpire situation. Pardon my French but my god is that ump a thin skined lil bitch. Hope he gets some sort of punishment from MLB be it suspension or termination. What kind of nonsense is this when you can get tossed for what the fans say! Are the fans now supposed to sit in silence like it's f***ing golf because an ump mat get their feelings hurt!? Even if this wasn't my team I'd still be this level of pissed and annoyed about this.

If the Yankees lose today it is all the managers fault, that bottom of the 8th was horrible managing, you don't bunt or try to steal base and than you don't use your closer in a tie game.

With the technology we have, I don't know why we need umpires at all. Their days are numbered. It's one of the few instances where people are actively advocating for robots to replace a job, because they already have in the minors, and it's been GREAT The Umps just make the call that the bots call, pitchers have been interviewed and said it's great and sped up the game more too. The way we keep getting controversies and the Umps seemingly get worse by the year, they're just gonna be forced out of deciding games.

Yes, the umpire egregiously overstepped. That being said, Aaron Boone is the biggest whiner this side of Paul O’Neill, so I don’t blame the ump for just assuming it was Boone doing the complaining.

It's wild that baseball has reviews, but you can't review a strike call on a ball half a foot outside the zone or on an ejection where the ump admits Boone is probably right but his feelie wheelies are hurt. Baseball is a great sport with godawful everything else.
