Fun fact, Bruce Bochy joins Sparky Anderson and Tony LaRussa is winning the World Series as an AL & NL Manager.

Carlos Mendoza is the next Mets manager. Stephen Vogt will manage the Guardians.
Apparently Counsell not 100% guaranteed to come back to Milwaukee despite turning down New York ans Cleveland.

Didn't see that coming. He's a major improvement over Ross imo.

Holy shit! I am stunned. And absolutely pumped. I think he’s one of the only managers that truly makes a difference. Let’s fuvking go!

I wonder if the Mets chose Mendoza over Counsell despite everyone linking him to the Mets because of his connection to their new President of Baseball Ops. Or if Counsell ultimately chose the Cubs and that made that made the Mets pivot.

Counsell getting $8m a year from the Cubs. My guess is his decision was financially driven, and I wouldn’t blame him if it was.
I think the Cubs are going to spend big in free agency this winter.

They'd be foolish to not try and get Cody back on a big deal imo, he went scorching hot and revived his career with the Cubs

This very much is a "Cubs are open for business" type of move! I say sign Bellinger, do some trades, maybe take a flier on Justin Turner for his clubhouse presence. We need to spend money on a good pen this season, and also get a couple top of the rotation starters as well. I think Counsell also liked what the Cubs have and probably had big discussions on what they plan on doing this offseason, I saw where he wanted to stay in the midwest for his family.

Color me shocked. I figured, despite Ross having some questionable decisions, he was going to be kept for as long as he wanted it, given his history with the club. By all accounts, he's a solid dude and definitely has a skillset, so he won't be out of a job for very long.
Now onto Counsell, I freaking loved him as a player and think he is about the best manager in baseball. He's Paul Heyman, he gets the most with the least. Sort of like Maddon did for so many years in Tampa Bay. I can only hope this results in another World Series win.
I hope, like others have said, this is a sign of things to come for the Cubs' offseason. I'd be thrilled to see Cody back since he seemingly loves Chicago and quite frankly, saved his career this season there. I would also love to see some top of the rotation starter and some bullpen help. They do have some talent on the farm, so I'd like to see some of those players get a chance.
I do wonder who the Brewers go after for their job now? I'd laugh at the absurdity of it all if David Ross ends up there.

When you thought his hubris and idiocy couldn't reach any higher But this is a Yankees squad with no accountability from the top down. The guy who takes the most blame on his shoulders is Judge and without him this team is dog water
