Oh, whoops. And on a side note, Rene's hot and all, but, if I'm not mistaken, I believe part 3 was the one where Joe Pesci had a Dennis Rodman-esque haircut. (And, on a more serious note, I believe that was the one where he actually made it onto the poster, which was a big deal at the time) Rene was such a whore. And I developed a theory about 4. You know Lee Butters, the character that Chris Rock played? I have this belief that he is, in fact, the blond haired kid from the first movie, and that he joined the force of that incident with Riggs and Murtaugh when Dixie's house blew up.

The first LETHAL WEAPON movie was pretty good....albeit weakened with a generic-vanilla baddie from hell. Still, good stuff.
But the sequel rocks. You had the new Nazis for the 1980s in South Africans of the old Apartheid regime...and plus, they kill the girl off. I mean damn...
The problem with LETHAL WEAPON 3 is....I can never remember what the plot was nor even the villain's scheme. Seen it a few times, and I never remember. Generic blandness tends to do that.
Plus, it was shot without a script finished...and it feels like it.
As for LETHAL WEAPON 4, I'll give Dick Donner this. He shot it in March, and it was released in June/July. Thats an insane shooting schedule(and Mel got the pay to film that Jesus S&M movie later).
Other than that, it fails because its like OCEAN'S 12....people return that don't matter, and there is no place or use for them. But, it was Jet Li's hymen-breaker for America....so thats good.
LETHAL WEAPON (1987) - ***1/2 LETHAL WEAPON 2 (1989) - **** LETHAL WEAPON 3 (1992) - **1/2 LETHAL WEAPON 4 (1998) - **
