I’ve been knocking out to sleep a lot earlier than normal recently. On Friday I woke up and saw 10:30 on the clock and panicked that I’d forgotten to set the alarm. I jumped into my work clothes and dashed outside to discover it was still dark out, I’d woken up at 10:30 pm. Last night it happened again, I woke up at 9-but this time I even drove to the office and texted my boss that the door was locked. He replied “You okay or is this a holdover text?” You could just turn me into glue, because I felt like a horse’s ass.

That happened to me lots when I worked shift work, it’s why I keep all my clocks on military time.

Years ago woke up thought it was 7am,got dressed hopped in my car and drove to school. Got there and hear on the radio the DJ mention something about Monday night football and realized it was 7pm.

Carbon monoxide detectors in your house? No Oh, dear god, if you have any natural gas hook ups in your house get a CO detector. They save lives, quite possibly more crucial then a smoke detector

The heat is electric. You might want to get one anyway. They aren't expensive and the fire department might have some free ones. Just to be safe in case there's an issue in an adjacent unit. CO poisoning does cause memory lapses, fatigue, etc.

I live in an apartment complex. The heat is electric. Well, as long as you have nothing gas or wood burning in your house you’re good without one. I was sick as a dog at the start of the month, very often knocking out as early as 6pm because I was loaded on cough medicine. Then I’d be awake in the middle of the night with congestion. My sleeping has yet to get back to normal. On top of that, daylight savings and the holiday have thrown me off all the more. I worked on Friday but all day I kept thinking it was Saturday.

Personally, I'd be scheduling a doctor's visit and getting some tests done post haste. The idea of CO2 detectors is a valid one, but we are all just shooting in the dark at this point. I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV.
All that said, if I was to venture a guess, I'd be leaning more towards sleep deprivation. Lack of sleep can f*** you up. Just look up different sleep experiments on YT.

Yeah, I'd probably consult your doctor. Sleep patterns getting out of whack can really f*** with the rest of your life

Any, like, change in medications or anything? I'm not a doctor but these seem like doctor questions.

I've had a few periods of zonking out at 10pm or something (which is really, really early for me, I'm a bit of a night owl) without actually going to bed, waking up at 3 or 4am totally disoriented, and then going back to sleep for three or four hours. Basically, it's really easy to get into bad habits and then if you're having broken sleep then you're absolutely shattered all the time and the whole thing just carries on.
There's weirdly a huge psychological aspect to sleeping. I don't know if this is what you're doing or not, but if you're going to sleep, the best thing to do is actually go to bed rather than just "resting your eyes" or whatever, that way your brain has sort of powered down and prepared itself for sleep rather than just crashing, and you're probably more likely to sleep through rather than having interrupted sleep.

Compounding my upended sense of time, my job has relocated to a new office. Nothing is working. They had months to pressure this place, so why would anything be working? I e been told to just gone in late for the next couple work days.
And there is a sign in the break room, “Donate your body to medical science! Are you ready?” I’m choosing to take this as a harbinger of future events.
