X is banned from ringside! X shows up anyway and interferes. what was the f!###%!# point Yeah, like if you still want them to cheat, cheat another goddamn way. Hide a roll of quarters in your boot or something, don't just do the same shit you always do, since the ref is going to bump either way.

Well, when you book something like that, it's meant to set up the next thing. Paul E. Dangerously is banned from ringside, he interferes anyway. So the next match Paul E is in a cage hanging above the ring with no way to possibly interfere now!!!! But he still manages to and there's heat. Now they just do whatever the f*** because fans are in the gag, think they're an essential part of the gag, so there's no face, no heel, no heat, no nothing. You just run through the motions and hope something viral catches on like Yes or Yeet or Yeah!!!! and call that over.

Samoa Joe's 'Nope' spot. Usually, when somebody else likes a wrestler or a match or a style of wrestling or something that I don't like, I can at least see where they're coming from. But I've posted before about how I think the Nope Spot is one of the worst things in wrestling and makes literally every single other thing that happens on a wrestling card look stupid. And yet somehow it's beloved...

Obvious 'helping your opponent'. If you're on the top corner and you are having to hold your opponent in place so they can throw you from the top... that's bad.
I agree with the 'scooting into position' opinion as well.
The illusion of the match appearing to be a competition is becoming a lost art. You may be able to do all the moves you learned watching Jushin Liger, but if you can't do them and make it look like it's 'happening' and not just a string of moves, then you're not good.

Guys awkwardly scooting into position on the mat for their opponents top rope move. Like Jay White getting into position for Swerves stomp was horrible. Ultimate Warrior won the title from Honky Tonk Man that way (granted with a grounded move).

The only thing that really takes me out of a match is a boring match or a serious, or potentially serious injury. If it’s entertaining, and telling a good story I can usually overlook 99.9999% of things. I really try to not overanalyse wrestling these days

Moves that look like they should be finishers used as transition moves Especially when the finish is something so simple it could be tried at any point. Might be realistic, but Big Show's punch, the Judas Effect, any spinning backfist etc. They take 0.1 seconds to do, just try at every opportunity.

Spots that are designed to make you think someone is legit hurt. It's just hard to get back into it.

I don't get why that's still a thing in TV wrestling, at least in singles matches. They have to get to the top rope, follow them up with the camera while the opponent scoots about then pan out for the actual move. Even that's the last resort because the majority of time the opponent should be dragged into position anyway.

50 something semi retired wrestlers doing the Canadian Destroyer. It's a stupid move when young guys do it, old guys somehow make it even worse.
Wrestlers ignoring the live crowd entirely to play to the hard cam, rotating awkwardly to make sure they're facing the right way to hit a move or for a pin.

Obvious cooperation. Stuff like two wrestlers having to help each other on the top rope is just maddening. The wrestlers standing outside the ring waiting for a dive. That’s probably tied in the first one actually. Referees seeing obvious rule breaking in front of them and just f***ing standing there. Interference taking too long. Selling and lack thereof.

Why would anyone shuffle on their goddam elbows?

Events that take such a protracted and specific series of events to get from point A to point B. For example, you want to have a surprise debut, but to get there requires a wrestler to be banished from ringside, the cage door to be busted open, the referee to be knocked down and a wrestler to hit his finisher before the moment can happen. It's scripted, but don't make it quite so obvious, it should at least appear organic.
That or cameramen lingering over someone who's trying to blade.

People rolling out of the ring during a royal rumble. Get your ass back in there and wrestle.

People rolling out of the ring during a royal rumble. Get your ass back in there and wrestle. Among the many, MANY ways he was poorly booked, having Reigns do that so much there were multiple "Roman's sleeping" *clap**clap**clapclapclap* chants in a Rumble really undercut him as a heroic face.

For me it is matches that require the referee to be extra blind and deaf, if not plain dumb. I know cheating can be necessary in a match but when it gets too elaborate it take me right of of the match. This really drives me crazy, especially when the cheating spot is blown or delayed and the ref has to keep looking like a lost buffoon. Also, Mike Choida’s MitB reffing. “Are you sure you want to cash in? Are you sure? You really want to cash in? Did your father really love you? Do you really want to cash in? What do you mean the earth is round? Are you sure you’re wanting to cash in…now?!”

People kicking out of Burning Hammers. I have quite a high tolerance for ridiculous stuff happening, I’ve watched a lot of Dragon Gate and Michinoku Pro and stuff, I’m fine with contrived stuff and comedy spots and backflips, but this really, really annoys me and I just immediately switch off when it happens.
Just big finisher overuse in general, actually. There was a period when NXT had “big matches” that just descended into ten minutes of finishers and near-falls because someone had seen an AJPW tape from 1998 and didn’t get it, and how and why it worked.

Refs ignoring/making up rules as they see fit. Plus, a ref's decision should be final without any "Dusty finishes."
