Quick heads up to any autograph collectors, I'm part of a wrestling memorabilia group on facebook that had a post about JSA not validating an Ultimate Warrior signature that was purchased directly from Ultimate Creations with the sticker and everything. We all know that Warrior lied about the authenticity about many of the belts he sold in the last year or two of his life, but apparently he had a number of forged signatures go out around this time as well. People on the post have been comparing some of these autographs that have either been denied or purchased from Warrior in this era to ones from verified actual signings and to the naked eye there is a good amount to confirm them dubious. Making it worse is a few of these have PSI stickers (Pro Sports Investments) a company who had four men sentenced for fraud in 2013 a few months before Warrior's death as well ( www.justice.gov/usao-ndil/pr/four-men-sentenced-fraud-involving-sports-memorabilia ) I don't want to link to the post directly as it's a private group, but I know there's a few autograph collectors here as well as a few Warrior fans who might have wanted something signed by Warrior for the holidays and I wanted to give a quick warning to be very aware and absolutely certain from a reputable seller before spending money on a Warrior signature.

Not that I’m after one, but if Warrior himself was selling forged and fake stuff, how does one know what and who is legit?

The signings from public appearances he was at like Wrestlecon have certification they put on every one, or people have photo evidence of him making the signature. JSA and a few other authenticators also have certified legitimate Warrior autographs in the past and still do. There's people whose entire job is to verify legitimate signatures. They're trained and certified. Plus, when you compare images from the actual verified Warrior signatures (from the aforementioned proven places) to the forgeries, it becomes pretty apparent.

Oh yeah, I know people verify signatures. Just curious if you knew of any legit dealers or what have you for someone who may be looking.

I believe the authenticity and integrity of Warrior signatures must be maintained at all costs because they are scarce like precious metals.

So wait, the Ultimate Warrior was selling forged autographs...of himself? More or less. From what I can tell, Warrior paid some dude to sign a bunch of merch that he would sell as officially signed

So wait, the Ultimate Warrior was selling forged autographs...of himself? Conrad Thompson mentioned it one of his podcasts a while back, he tried getting some merch from Warrior and found out he was selling forged autographs and he backed out of it.

I honestly bet you it’s more common the we think. In today’s world of mass market autograph collecting? Guarantee you all sorts of athletes and celebs are selling forged autographs.

Only experts are gonna be able to tell a fake from a real celeb autograph if any effort whatsoever is put into the forgery.

My sig changes often, cause really when the helll do I write my name anymore? They only signed picture of Ultimo Gallos I can for sure say it is legit. Signed it at Widowfest night 2 this year. Was shocked when Pirate Pete had taken a picture of him and I got it done up as an 8x10 and had it in his binder.

One of the allegations against Pro Wrestling Tees that was overshadowed by the credit card leak/coverup scandal around that same time was they their Dr Wagner autographs from their monthly crate were fraudulent.

Conrad Thompson mentioned it one of his podcasts a while back, he tried getting some merch from Warrior and found out he was selling forged autographs and he backed out of it. Conrad's also mentioned that as late as the last year of his life, Warrior was selling gear and belts as "ring worn" and "TV used" that weren't.
