What was with that golden jets segment?

Everyone felt very pseudo shoot-y. Big Bill got some chants. Ricky got a few good lines in. Kenny seemed to be trying to have fun. Jericho Jericho’d. Ricky seemed to get flustered at the end, Kenny’s weird extra bang, “hit my music”, just what?! Lol

That was a huge mess. Kenny seemed like he'd forgotten his lines and stumbled a lot over his words and that was only like the fourth worst thing about it.

Kenny being weird was at least fun in a weird Kenny Omega sort of way, but Jericho was in like out of breath "I HAVE TO SCREAM MY JOKES AT YOU" mode and none of his jokes were uh yeah.

The live crowd liked it I guess?

It reminded me of like 2019 Jericho where Dynamite would be a fun time and then he'd have his metaphorical "trip over the cables and while he's lying on the ground let out a huge fart" segment that just killed the mood here, but as I type this I'm like that isn't even exclusive to 2019 that's been Jericho in AEW on here pretty much the entirety of AEW's existence lol. I don't even know what my point is. BANG. HIT MY MUSIC.

Kenny being really awkward during it was kind of endearing. Everything else was just a mess though.

I hope and pray Ricky and Big Bill win at World's End so this whole Golden Jets thing can end and Kenny can go back to being a singles wrestler and become the star of the company as he should be.

The whole thing was a mess and none of them click together, including the two tag teams. Hopefully the match will make up for it

I actually liked it and was entertained by it. It was clunky but I got a chuckle or 2 out of it. Lol

I laughed at it and did enjoy it but not in the way they intended and don't think it worked at all. But its not end of world. Just a janky promo segment.

Honestly felt like Omega had just turned up and was like 'I'll call it in the ring'. Looked like he had prepared at all

Omega was terrible here but Ricky Starks was really good. It’s funny they brought up Enzo as a diss because he would have smoked them all in that promo.

I actually liked the first part of Kenny's promo making the Firm pun and all, and Starks and Big both did well, but once Jericho got into his inexplicable "Big Billy Starks" mode the entire thing went off the rails.

I thought Ricky and Bill were fine. Kenny and Jericho were off in that segment, and I think about halfway through they kind of knew the segment wasnt going well cause they started to ham it up a bit

Enzo namedrop kinda saved it from being a bad segment

Straight up face Jericho just doesn’t click at this stage of his career for me.

It was awkward because they don't have any reason to hate each other. They have plenty of reasons to compete for the tag titles, but there isn't any personal stories for them to draw from in a promo segment. This would have worked better if Starks/Bill called out Omega/Jericho. Starks could have led the promo as a heel and talked about how they were going to beat two fading legends. Then Jericho and Omega could respond to the more personal attack.

The worst part about the Golden Jets is that Jericho brings out Omega's goofiest side. Omega can play goofy well and he usually balances it out with his best bout machine dynamic. However, in this tag team, Omega is trying to match Jericho's goofiness. No one (and I mean no one) does the goofy stick worst then Jericho. The team would actually work better if Jericho played the goofy aging star and Omega played the more serious in ring specialist. The counteraction would give them a nice dynamic and would present elements for a later feud.

100% this felt like 4 guys who said “we’re all good talkers, let’s go wing it” and it just didn’t work. Just one of those segments that as soon as it started to come off the rails, there was no saving it.

I mean, it was funny for all the wrong reasons. I was pretty entertained, but it was pretty bad. Those guys all clearly knew they were dying out there, tried to power through but also knew it was a lost cause
