Seems like someone at WWE has told Samantha to stop announcing Chelsea with her usual flourish. I'd assume the same for others she does it for like Imperium, but guess we'll have to wait and see. She still said Gunther the same, but didn't get to announce Kaiser and Vinci last night. But she's being pretty open on X that this wasnt her call and she isn't happy about it. Not going to lie i never much cared for the florishes. Her putting on a faux Scottish accent when annoucing Piper Niven just came across a little goofy to me. At the same time though it gave a little extra personality to people so what the hell they should just let her do it that way. People like it too.

And yet they didn't stop Chimmel back in the day with his announcement for Edge.
Sad to see her fun touch being phased out. Though then again I look back and Howard Finkel didn't really have that many flourishes when he announced people (most I can think is disdain for Harvey Whippleman and rolling the Rs for Razor Ramon).

I could see it like when they used to pause after saying "One fall" and then the audience would repeat it. Some old school idiot in the back thinks the announcer's trying to get themselves over, so we can't have the fun thing anymore.

If they think she’s trying to put herself over, maybe they should stop sharing them on their socials.
This is dumb and it takes away a little personality that we may not see for the performers if they don’t get promo time.

A few weeks back, she did Chelsea's name normally, then the next week did it with the flourish. Not sure why, but yeah. it's kinda weird.

Don't get me wrong, this is not exclusive to Samantha (just ask Justin "JEEEEEEEAAAAAWWWWWWWWN" Roberts), but it kinda is what it is. The only time I remember Fink doing anything unusual with his voice it was rolling the R's with "Razor Ramon", and even that was tame compared to Justin Roberts who rolls his R's for what feels like 20 seconds. It's just the way announcing is today, I guess. Samantha and the male announcer are both overly cartoonish with some of the stuff they say, although it's possible/likely the company wants them to be that animated. |

If I was in charge, I would be selling talking Samantha Irvin dolls that say Chelseaaa GReeeen! the right way.
Samantha is legit the greatest announcer since The Fink (the little kid in me won't let me say she's better than The Fink, but she may very well be).

As far as Howard goes, I remember when he used to announce a title change, he would always emphasize the word “new.”
Howard: “The winner of this bout…and NEEEEEEW WWE (World/Intercontinsl/Tag Team) Chsmpion(s)…”
Starting in 2000, whether a show was taking place in a face’s hometown or in some cases home state (storyline and/or real life), he would always emphasize either the town and/or the state to get the cheap pop.
Example: A PPV in 2000 which took place in some town in Alabama. Bob Holly is coming down the aisle.
Howard: “From Mobile, ALABAMA…”
(Crowd cheers even more.)
