39-Malum-Terror Vision Blu ray Never heard of this movie. It is a horror movie that got a limited release last year. Young cop agrees to spend the night in an abandoned police station to watch it. She is doing this it investigate a cult attack on the station that happened years ago. Never would bought this, but found it odd a Terror Vision Blu ray was getting released to big box stores. So took a chance. And glad I did. Very tense and keeps you guessing till tthe end. 7.8 bloody pigs out of 10 That’s pretty cool Terror Vision got a big box store release. How did you find out it got a big box store release? Did you read about it or just see it out in the wild? If you just saw it, I wonder how many other Terror Vision Blu-rays may be getting the big box store treatment. They’re a very small company, but I know they have a guy, Brad, who works for them and is active on some other forums I’m on. I don’t know if he’s the main guy behind them or just handles their online stuff. One fun tidbit I found from reading his posts was that their restoration of Dante’s Inferno (1911) came form a 109 year-old film print.

50. Assault on Precinct 13 (1976) - Watched this on Blu-ray. I got this from the library recently, along with the 2005 remake. I had heard a lot of things about this movie. Not just the positive feedback, but also how it inspired other films with a similar premise. I had read that John Carpenter was inspired by "Rio Bravo," as well as some zombie films, as this felt like an urban western, as well as had survival elements.
I expected there to be a slow build-up to the crux of the story. So it starts out with the characters doing their thing while also showing the build-up to the gang attacking the police station. While you don't really get to know the gang members, you can see that they are scum and you wonder who will make it by the end of the film.
I could see what Carpenter was doing with his style in this film. I liked the part when it showed the main characters each firing their weapons, and it cuts to each of them firing them, gunning down some of the bad guys.
I see that this movie has quite a legacy and reputation. It has good action scenes and suspense.
Now to watch the 2005 film.

Saw Brad posting about Mulam and only it so far, only the blu ray version, had a deal with Walmart. Seems only like 1000 stores got it? Shockedd ours did cause really this isn't something I see selling well locally. I didn't expect to see it. Needed milk and bread and traash bags,so ran by electronics and there it is.

Can't believe this is my first time rewatching this. A legitimate classic, emotionally gripping with great performances, and one of the best superhero films ever made. [****½]

I didn't know this existed until I opened Tubi but a vampire flick featuring drag queens who I know from Rupaul's Drag Race? Sign me up! I had so much fun with this. [***½]

51. Assault on Precinct 13 (2005) - Watched this on Blu-ray. After watching the 1976 film of the same name, I knew I was going to watch this soon. It had been a rather long time since I last watched it. I remember renting this back in 2005 and enjoying it, but any other time I got glimpses of it was likely on HBO or something. Also, despite being labeled a remake of the 1976 film, there were plenty of differences. Sure, it had to do with an assault on a closing police station, as well as cops and criminals teaming up, but other than that, this has its own plot and characters. Although I will note that there was a nod to the 1976 original in one scene.
With all that being said, while I think the 1976 film is superior in different ways, I can still enjoy this film. Some of the characters were entertaining, such as John Leguizamo's character. One part that I didn't like was when Maria Bello's character got killed, but in a lot of ways, I get where the director was going with that scene. I wonder if that part was already in the script.
Like I said, the 1976 film is better, but I don't have a problem with this film.

14. Ant Man and The Wasp
Just a mid level Marvel movie. The Pym/Lang/Van Dyne team was entertaining. Luis was hilarious as always. But they put in two different villains and neither one of them was very interesting. And I guess the ending had something to do with the blip?
15. Ant Man and The Wasp: Quantumania
What the hell? No resolution for the cliffhanger from the last movie. Janet was a bitch who repeatedly refused to tell her allies information they REALLY needed to know. Modok should have been a villain but he came off as comic relief. I have never found Jonathan Majors to be believable as Kang (hated him in Loki too). And the end credits scene is just DOA now that Majors is an unperson.

52. Wrong Turn (2003) - Watched this on DVD. For a while, I have had an interest in these movies. I am aware that the sequels were straight-to-video, but this one was given a theatrical release. I am also aware that it was remade, which I may check out soon. Regarding the sequels, I don't have a way to see them, so I may order a boxed set and the sixth one soon or down the road. Until then, I will give my take on this one.
I remember hearing about this film back in 2003 and seeing TV spots for it. I mostly remember one where it showed the scene with Emmanuelle Chriqui's character said "We're going to die." Of course, I wasn't really into horror back then, but I have grown to appreciate, if actually like horror over the years. With that said, I see this as more of a slasher and a survival thriller. It also should be noted that this came out the same year as the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" remake. I see some similar vibes, except there was no real dialogue and minimal characterization with the cannibals in this film.
It's a short film. It's to the point. Of course, you had some eye candy in the likes of Eliza Dushku, Emmanuelle Chriqui, and Lindy Booth, who was killed off rather early in the film. It's ridden with clichés you would find in a slasher movie and also a survival movie. At least one or two people in the main group get killed off. One or two people make it out at the end. There was some gore, but not too much. It also had a low budget. I had fun with this one for what it was.

Another fun Ghostbusters entry. There are WAY too many characters (some who are redundant) but it's still a good time. [***]

25. Money Train
Loved White Men Can't Jump, and this came up as "expiring" on Amazon, gave it a shot.
This was not what I was expecting, I was thinking a fun heist with them bantering, the heist is only the end, before it's pretty depressing in breaking Woody to get him to that point.
They still have amazing chemistry, but it doesn't click. The script is weak with cartoon villains, the protagonists are wildly dangerous assholes who'd be easy to flip to bad guys.
Some fun stunts but not super A+ ones.
It was a decent way to spend a couple of hours but not amazing.

40-The Final Countdown-Blue Underground DVD
Heard about this movie for decades. Found it weeks back new for 50 cents.
A nuclear powered aircraft carrier gets trapped in an electrical storm and gets sent back from the present day to Dec 6th 1941. Just hours before the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Get lots of arguing over if they will usse their modern jets too prevent the Pearl Harbor attack or not.
I kind of see why this movie is a bit forgotten. It is decent but a bit slow.
5.8 Seaman on the beach out of 10.
41-Evil Toons-20th Annivesary Retromedia DVD
After seeing it mentioned a few timees in another thread I dug out my copy to watch again.
4 college students get hired to clean up an old home over the weekend. Not knowing that years back David Carridine died by hanging himself in the home.
David comes back and delivers an evil book. Since one of the ladies speaks the ancient language the book is written in it unleashes a demon. Who looks like a cartoon wolf.
This is a low budget attempt at a mash up of Who Framed Roger Rabbit and the normal horror/comedy Fred Olen Ray was making at the time.
The cast is just oddball. Got Dick Miller as the man who hires the students to clean the house. Monique Gabrielle as the "ugly" nerdy girl. Pornstars Barbara Dare, under a different name, and Madison Stone. Plus Michelle Bauerer as Dick Miller's wife.
8.9 Madison Stone butt shakes out of 10.

49. Tremors 3: Back to Perfection (2001) 50. Tremors 4: The Legend Begins (2004) 51. Tremors 5: Bloodlines (2015)For those not familiar, largely due to the failure of the TV series the Tremors franchise went on hiatus after the fourth movie. But after a decade and change someone decided to pull it out of mothballs for this, the first of a Direct-to-Video trilogy. Burt returns because, no matter what Kevin Bacon might claim, this is Michael Gross' franchise now. This is also the first appearance of Jamie Kennedy as Travis, Burt's new sidekick/illegitimate son. Here they travel to South Africa to battle a new breed of super-Graboids that are threatening a remote village. I'm not a fan of the new super-Graboids and the new Ass-Blasters that look like a cross between a velociraptor and a Xenomorph. It just feels like they're trying too hard. Burt is great as usual and Travis works well as his new sidekick, but most of the other characters are pretty forgettable. Special effects for everything look great though. It's a fun enough B-movie, but not one of my favorites of the franchise. 52. Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell (2018)For some reason they decided to stop numbering the Tremors movies with this one. Not sure why. This will probably be my last Tremors movie for the time being. Shrieker Island is not on YouTube (at least not for free), and, honestly, I'm kinda Tremors'd out for now. For those not familiar, Burt and Travis return in this one to battle Graboids in a surprisingly temperate looking Canadian Arctic. I think this is the first time that both of the main stars from a previous Tremors movie return for a new one. Also featured in this movie is Valerie McKee, the daughter of Val and Rhonda from the first movie. You'd think a character like that would be more important to the franchise then she winds up being, but she isn't and her actress doesn't even warrant her own Wikipedia page. Anyways, a fun movie with a lot of callbacks to earlier movies. The supporting cast is much more quirky and entertaining then the previous one as well. Definite recommend.

53. Robocop (1987) - Watched this on Blu-ray. I had bought the novelizations of the first two films off of eBay recently. I had the itch to watch this one. Maybe I might watch the second one soon as I felt that one was underrated. I am not sure about the third one, though.
I feel that the best version to watch is the unrated director's cut because it's clear that Paul Verhoeven had a vision with the direction of this film. I am curious about the original screenplay by Edward Neumeier and Michael Miner, because I had read that Verhoeven had a hand in some of the script, which worked for the satire it was going for, especially in the scenes with the commercials. Plus, Kurtwood Smith was entertaining as one of the villains, no matter how much a scumbag Clarence Boddicker was. Plus, the action and the gore was fun to watch. I also liked the use of stop motion for ED-209.
Other than that, I also appreciate some of the downtime scenes, particularly the one when Robo goes to visit his old home. That was a sad scene.
It's still a classic after all these years.

50. Tremors 4: The Legend Begins (2004) 51. Tremors 5: Bloodlines (2015)52. Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell (2018) 53. The Three Musketeers (1993)Another YouTube movie that I started at work but wound up finishing at home. Probably for the best, this wouldn't be the first time this movie has disappeared from a streaming service on me. For those not familiar, this is a Disney live-action version of the Alexandre Dumas novel, although it seems much more heavily inspired by 1991's Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. It features some pretty interesting casting, including Charlie Sheen as a Priest, Oliver Platt playing Porthos as Captain Jack Sparrow by way of Jon Lovitz and Tim Curry at his Tim Curry-est as the villainous Cardinal Richelieu. Apparently Brendan Fraser was the original choice for D'Artagnan, and I'm very sad that did not happen. The casting gives way to some entertaining and snappy dialogue. That and some fun action scenes elevate an otherwise paint-by-numbers story into a fun enough time-killer. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention its soundtrack including the rock ballad "All For Love", jointly sung by Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart and Sting. A rather odd choice for a movie that does not have much in the way of a love story. 54. Santo vs. Frankenstein's Daughter (1972)The last El Santo movie I watched, with Dracula, honestly felt like a really atypical example of his body of work, with the sex and nudity and all. I really wanted to check out a more typical movies of his and I chose this one. For those not familiar, Dr. Frankenstein's daughter, Freda, kidnaps Santo's girlfriend with the goal of luring him into a trap so she can steal his magic blood (with its high midichlorian count) to use in her experiments, which include a youth serum that she needs to stay young, and a Monster just like her Dad's. At least that's her original plan. She kinda gives up on it pretty quick and we just get ever increasing attempts by her to get revenge on Santo for not sleeping with her. But he does fight a Frankenstein monster in a graveyard, so it's all good. It's a stupid movie and the story barely holds together. But it does have a charm to it largely due to feeling like a mash-up of a 50's drive-in monster movie and an episode of 60's Batman.

54. Robocop 2 - Watched this on Max. After watching the first film, I felt like watching this one. I have always felt that this film was underrated. Okay, it's not as good as its predecessor. I am aware that the first film was a satire and almost somewhat of a take on Frankenstein. One would think that this film missed the point of the first film, but really, while many things in this film didn't work, there is still fun to be had.
Some of the effects do look cheap, though. Also, there was a little camp in this one, especially in that chase sequence. However, I always laugh during the parts when Robo was modified and made those polite comments, and had problems with children swearing, and on top of that, "Thank you for not smoking." I also liked how the climax this time around involved another cyborg.
I might read the novelization soon, along with the one for the first film. I am not sure about doing the third film, even though I somewhat have an itch to do so, no matter how weak that film was. I might even revisit the 2014 film, which I didn't hate.
