PnP not winning the tag titles is still a huge mistake. If those two couldn't keep it together and one of the members wanted to go solo, then it's for the best the team didn't win the titles.

This whole situation sucks because it doesn't feel like it's helped either of them
Santana's attitude seems to have gotten him completely phased out of AEW, at least to this point, and Ortiz can't seem to find a stable act to fit back into
When it hasn't been PNP getting booked, even them together in that feud, it feels like either guy can't really get anything going. I wonder about Santana's ceiling as a whole because the dude sounds like an absolute nightmare to work with at this point.

Do people just make up what they want to or is there serious reading comprehension issues regarding why they didn’t win the titles? It’s one sentence guys. It’s even separated from the main paragraph for you. It wasn’t them turning it down. It want because they didn’t like each other then. Go back and try it again…I believe in you. Gonna quote this to also point out that their personal issues is not why they weren't tag champs just why they broke up and why things were so sudden and frosty. Santana didn't want to work with Ortiz (at least according to Ortiz) Ortiz did say, and as Ace said I separated it, they were supposed to win the tag titles on two separate occasions but plans changed due to Inner Circle Angles calling for them to focus on that

The thing to me is I would believe Ortiz more as an underdog Babyface singles star than anything Santana does. Santana seems like a try hard. Team Ortiz with Daniel Garcia and have them conquer the world.

Considering nobody's claimed he turned down a title, I think the reading comprehension issues may be yours. PnP not winning the tag titles is still a huge mistake. Facts, although this at least makes the Booker(s?) look less dumb if they actually DID want them to win the titles and they refused. I guess you could "force" someone to win the belt but that probably wouldn't work out well.

Imagine getting over with your friend and getting a spot on a new national level promotion and even having a chance to be a champion there together but then throwing everything that got you there (your partner) away because you think you are better.

For my money, PNP were the best part of early AEW, and it’s a real shame they never got a title run.

Where is Santana at moment? Reading between the lines, AEW flat out wanted to do something to show why PNP broke up, they did that, and they're letting Santana do what he wants till his contract is up. I remember before his injury he was very passive aggressive towards AEW on social media.

It's such a shame as they're a great tag team and would be THE team in the weakened AEW tag team division right now. And their feud was actually really good and one of the best things in AEW this year but got lost in Rampage. God knows what Santana wants but, oh well.

I can understand wanting out of a team where the interpersonal relationship is strained and not wanting to spend your career as a tag guy. The past 30 years of wrestling is filled with the 'other guy' in wrestling the guy who lost the breakup feud, or the guy who was left behind when the other guy got hurt and retired, so I completely get Santana wanting out while he's still young enough to carve his own path.

Early PNP were THOSE DUDES. I wasn't sold initially, but Ortiz cut a killer promo (as the heels too iirc) about how you should be proud of who you are, and it was one of the best video packages AEW had done early on.
Reminded me of Miz's video package before his match with Cena at WM, it was like "well I can't boo you now!"
