Based on quotes sounds like Santana really didn't want to do much of anything with the feud either per Ortiz
Ortiz also did mention that PNP were twice supposed to win the tag titles but due to Inner Circle storylines those moments were nixed

That sucks, I really wished that PnP would have won the titles at least once.
Their match should have been on a PPV at least as their feud fell flat.
Not sure where Santana & Ortiz go from here.

PnP not winning the tag titles is still a huge mistake.

Not sure where Santana & Ortiz go from here. Santana will leave whenever his contract is up this year and attempt to go solo on the indies.

PnP not winning the tag titles is still a huge mistake. I agree but I'm not sure where it would have fit in, unless they were the first champions instead of SCU

Every part of this feels like Santana is leaving Ortiz high and dry. Which isn’t new in wrestling (see Kingston’s grudge with Claudio, Suzu Suzuki/Giulia, and Keith Lee/Shane Taylor).
What’s new is that so far it has been a net negative for all involved. And the fact that a lot of people are not on Santana’s side.

PnP not winning the tag titles is still a huge mistake. Facts, although this at least makes the Booker(s?) look less dumb if they actually DID want them to win the titles and they refused. I guess you could "force" someone to win the belt but that probably wouldn't work out well.

Honestly, I was annoyed they never won them but hearing this now, kind of makes sense they never did if Santana was less than desirable with teaming with Ortiz

I'd kind of like to hear Santana's side of things, because it feels like what's publicly known about this situation has come exclusively from Ortiz.
Regardless, I like both guys and hope they can find something that works for them, be it in AEW or elsewhere.

I absolutely see the potential in Santana as a singles star. Handsome as hell, great wrestler, really stood out in some of the Inner Circle promos. But I'm really unsure how the hell he goes about living up to that potential at this point.

I do agree it should have been on PPV but I thought their feud was really good for the Rammers crowd. Good promos every week and I really liked their match.

I kinda like that PnP never won the tag titles. Shows how hard a title is to win when big names miss out, used to feel the same with the nxt titles.
It also shows how weak the division is now in comparison.

To this day they should have won the tag titles first instead of boring SCU.

Sucks that they never got a tag reign in AEW due to their conflict.

But I'm really unsure how the hell he goes about living up to that potential at this point. Also a question of where he lives up to that potential. Clearly he's out of AEW. Does TNA want him? Will the higher rung indies like GCW go from booking him in the midcard to giving him a big push if he's an indies only guy? It's a gamble, and it's hardly a QT Marshall level "Wait dude what? Are you serious?" level gamble, he's trading away a pretty known and succesfful to try and do this.

Yeah, kind of what boggles me about it is that, I feel like I see in him what he appears to see in himself. I see Mike Santana, top star, in terms of raw ability. But in trying to make it happen now, he's throwing away every tool I can see him using to achieve that - booker goodwill, a tag title reign on his resume, on-screen connections to top talent. But hey, if the guy doesn't want to work with any of those things, then that's that.

Do people just make up what they want to or is there serious reading comprehension issues regarding why they didn’t win the titles? It’s one sentence guys. It’s even separated from the main paragraph for you. It wasn’t them turning it down. It want because they didn’t like each other then. Go back and try it again…I believe in you.

Gave them a big thank you for everything send off and there was a behind the scenes documentary before they left where you could see how much D’Amore appreciated everything they did for the company. If Santana wanted to go back they’d definitely bring him in and push him.
