Thought this was pretty cool. I dig his knew look and I'm compelled to check further where this goes:
EDIT: Here's another new one in his new persona:

On the one hand, Warhorse felt like it had a clear ceiling, even had an AEW tryout and it just never went anywhere
On the other, not sure what to make of the repackaging... I've seen quite a lot of the cool/funny wrestler turns into serious brooding asshole before and it's hard to make work because it turns a standout look into well... something more generic, have to see what the new persona looks like in ring as well

It’s sad to see such a fun gimmick turned into something so generic. I’m sure this will afford him more opportunities, though.

Time will tell on whether this new iteration of Warhorse will work, but if you didn't see his social media last month leading into the character change, you missed one of the best "loss of confidence" stories I've seen, leading to him wagering his career against Marcus Mathers at Beyond with the winner getting an IWTV title match.

I liked him as-is, but this is probably needed given how, yeah, he was definitely getting dismissed. A change was likely the only path forward.

The Second of those promos was better... that said... on one hand he did seem to hit his ceiling doing what he was doing and since he had the try out and was passed on I assume Tony has hit his limit with weird indy gimmicks by hiring OC and Danhausen....
on the other while he's decent on the mic, this stuff is just... really generic.
(fake edit cause I Watched it while writing this, the promo where he gives the belt back is probably hte best promo in the thread. )

Did he evolve into Bojack Warhorseman or did he just somehow become a Raven?

Does he have attitude issues or something?

He's hit his Berlyn phase and wonder if it will work because I've always viewed him as a comedy character

I'm curious to see where this will go. Those promos were good, but during his last SRS phase, he was boring AF.

His look before was fine but he looked like some guy doing cosplay. He really needed to hit the gym to gain mass.

Got my first glance at the new Warhorse last night at F1rst Wrestling's Wrestlepalooza and, yes, this new incarnation definitely has legs.
Promo before the match was good, especially for the sudden turn since the last time the crowd's seen him and navigating it being serious without coming off forced and still entertaining and compelling without being cartoon-y.
Then the match itself - he has an ENTIRELY new moveset and it's f***ing great. His flying elbow drop is a work of f***ing art, and he has some really cool unique offense when he gets someone in the corner.
So yeah, this new Jake Parnell absolutely has something here and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.
