Green Bay game has me nervous as hell.
49ers are the team to beat in the NFC regardless.

Pittsburgh beating Buffalo would be hilarious.

Ok, I guess it's now time for Val's "He's probably drunk and really stupid" Picks for this week:
Browns over Texans (Browns got this strange "destiny" feeling about them and I don't know why) Chiefs over Fins (gut says this game will have some major ref bullshit) Bills over Steelers (I actually tossed a coin for this game) Cowboys over Packers (largely uneventful game. I think it's way overhyped because it's two media darlings) Rams over Lions (Stafford/Puka will get like a million yards and the Lions will kill themselves with aggressive calling) Eagles over Bucs (as much as I shit on the Eagles, I'm not going to pretend like I have a lot of faith in the Bucs)

Dolphins finish the season 1-5 with a -91 point differential vs playoff teams..only the Giants and Commanders had a worse point differential against playoff teams.

Only way I can remotely see the Chiefs losing is if they beat themselves. Dolphins are coming in with so many disadvantages on top of being paper tigers in terms of match-ups against winning teams.

Fins feel like one of the teams that looks amazing destroying lackluster teams all year and then gets mauled post season because they can't handle playoff level defense.

Going to be 40 degrees colder in KC than Buffalo for their respective playoff games.
I like all the home teams in the AFC, NFC looks more interesting

Mike Evans has had an unbelievable career, but I never hear anyone talking about him other than, "oh yeah, Mike Evans".

Mike Evans has had an unbelievable career, but I never hear anyone talking about him other than, "oh yeah, Mike Evans". He has and if he manages to play another 3-4 years at his current level heβll be near top 10 all time. I was surprised the other day when I looked up his stats how far off the mark he actually is 45th all time receptions (just behind Eric Moulds) 33rd all time receiving yards (just behind Derick Mason) 13th all time receiving TDs (just behind Devante Adams) So he is kinda in that βoh yeah that guyβ category

He's been productive with basically any QB he's been given. I also wasn't joking, I fully expect the Chiefs to pursue him in FA.

Let me speak on this:
Cleveland @ Houston: I think the fairy dust will run out on ol' Flacco down in Houston. While Cleveland's defense is suffocating at time, it's mostly suffocating at home, and very mediocre on the road. I don't think Flacco will be able to overcome the funballs that he's sure to throw. Houston defense ain't worth squat, but I'll take the home team in front of a pumped-up crowd.
Houston 24, Cleveland 20
Miami @ Kansas City: Both teams have their limitations. Unless everything is 100% perfect health-wise, the Dolphins can't beat teams on their level, and KC has a receiving corps in shambles. KC should be able to take advantage of a severely depleted Dolphins defense in any event. I'd be more confident in the Fins if both Hill and Waddle were healthy, but neither one are... so that means little chance of them getting loose against the above-average KC secondary... who also loves to hold and get away with it too. KC takes it convincingly in Arrowhead.
Kansas City 27, Miami 16
Pittsburgh @ Buffalo: I'm hoping against hope that the Steelers will do something stupid and put the game in the hands of Mason Rudolph rather than hand the ball off to Harris and Warren and let them run it 35-42 times. Because if they do that, I have a pretty good feeling that the Steelers will advance. The Bills still have a very suspect run defense and it gets exposed when they're playing from behind. Yes, the Steelers have a lot of injuries on their defense, but Josh Allen still plays fast and loose with the football. Plus, he's arrogant... the Chiefs fans told me so. I'd love for the Bills to make a Super Bowl run this year, but I'm thinking the party ends here.
Pittsburgh 20, Buffalo 17
Green Bay @ Dallas: Yeah... Jordan Love and the Packers ain't ready yet. Despite shameful playoff performances from Mr. Yeah-Here-We-Go, the Cowboys should be able to handle the Packers, their inconsistent offense, their poor defense and Jordan Love who will be overwhelmed by the moment in itself. I'd think by the time Love realizes he's starting in a playoff game, the Packers will be down by about 17 in the second quarter. Dallas in a cakewalk
Dallas 38, Green Bay 14
LA Rams @ Detroit: This will likely be the top game of the weekend what with all the storylines in place. Unless Aaron Donald seriously wreaks havoc, the Lions should be able to move the ball at will, primarily on the ground. I'm also hoping that Dan Campbell doesn't do anything stupid during the course of the game, coaching-wise. Stafford and the Rams will have any and every opportunity to get 300-450 yards through the air due to the woeful Lions secondary. It'd be particularly interesting if the Rams could push the ball down the field with Kupp and Nacua. Kupp really isn't that kind of guy, but against the Lions secoondary, anything's possible. Definitely a shootout scenario here. Gibbs comes away looking like the stud of last year's draft.
Detroit 35, Los Angeles Rams 31
Philadelphia @ Tampa Bay: Team turmoil aside, the Eagles don't suck out loud enough to lose to the Buccaneers. I'm just happy that this is the Monday Night game so I won't have to hear Buck & Aikman wave their poms-poms for the Cowboys as they are apt to do. The Buccaneers, stats-wise, can't run the ball nor are they any good at defending the pass which are two things the Eagles can hang their hats on. One of Brown or Smith playing can put the Eagles over the top. Or... they can give it to Swift & Gainwell and see success from there as well. Don't have a lot of confidence in Tampa. None of the teams from the NFC South were any good.
Philadelphia 23, Tampa Bay 10

Dolphins Lions Bills Chiefs Texans Browns
Any of these choices are good. Unfortunately, I'm predicting that it'll be the Ravens. βΉοΈ

Tough year to call. I'll go Lions over Bills with Hutch as MVP simply to complete the Michigan sweep.
