Short of the video footage coming out, this is as good as we're going to get. Also matches up with the non-Punk camp, Punk started the fight when Perry came backstage and Joe was the one that forced him into line.

I mean this doesn't really change anything does it? -Punk was angry and there was a brawl -Perry was bleeding from his match -Joe was yelling at people to get them in line We knew all that before, no? It doesn't, but it's good to have a first hand account of events rather than the weird mixture of sources we had during Brawl Out and this and such, right?

So Joe basically got the AEW title because he acted like an adult? Also because Punk got fired and Cole got injured but like to think Joe is champion because everyone respects him. My brother said this is literally his “thank you” reign for all in lol

Yeah, there’s no “daddy phil felt bad about punching mean ol luke perry’s son and bought everybody nando’s and then everybody clapped” undertone to this at all.

I hate to break it to all of you but he's not talking about Samoa Joe. This man was the real voice of reason:

King Curtis Iaukea III appeared before the chaos from the realm beyond where no Hulkamaniacs dwell and commanded an end to it lest they be judged by Sullivan The Son Of The Darkness, The Creator "SULLIVAN, MY SON!" "Actually, I'm AEW's Vice President of Post Production Kevin Sullivan. Different guy. I get that a lot." "I AM ADOPTING YOU ANYWAY!" "... okay." “SULLIVAN, MY SON!! I HAVE BROUGHT YOU ANOTHER WARRIOR IN THE QUEST FOR THE RARE WHITE BENGAL TIGER!!” “Who have you brought me, fatha??” “HE WAS BORN IN THE RING OF FIRE!! HE HAS BATTLED THE SHARKS AND GIANT SQUID OFF THE SHORES OF WAKIKI!! HE HAS DANCED THE HULU ON THE VERY EDGE OF REALITY! I GIVE TO YOUUUUUU…..THE BIG HAWAIIAN-LOOKING DUDE!!!”

Nah I don't believe this, can't possibly be true because it involves Tony verbally reprimanding Punk :-)

Kid says Tony Khan was screaming at Punk, saying something about him “ruining” this moment for everyone and to “get the f*** out there and wrestle.” ?

If I am TK, I am doing whatever I can to make sure Joe, Danielson and Mox are with AEW for as long as humanly possible. Even after they are done wrestling, their presence in the locker room is important.
Granted, TK does seem to believe this as well since he gave Mox a long-term contract, made Joe world champion and is making Danielson part of creative.

Whoo Kid has zero reason to lie about this. He don't care... I believe this 100%.

I imagine it's hard for Kenny and the Bucks to be part of "the boys" since they're also in management, so having Danielson, Joe, and Mox around as guys who are seasoned vets but also from after a time when the ultra-carny parts of wrestling started to be weeded out.

Whoo Kid has zero reason to like about this. He don't care... I believe this 100%. That's my thought on it. He was there as a gig and a favour to Swerve so probably not as online as a lot of us are to know this stuff (hence "Hawaiian looking guy") so he'd have no reason to make anything up.

I have wondered if Kenny possibly regrets getting the EVP title when AEW started. The monetary perks and being a full-time employee with benefits is certainly nice, but I imagine he would rather just be a wrestler. He obviously could have offered to drop the EVP title with his most recent contract talks, but Barry Bloom would want to maximize his deal. We never hear of Kenny of the Bucks being part of major management decisions. That might be because TK is the owner and can really do whatever he wants. However, I suspect that the Elite aren't interested in sitting in a boardroom to speak with business partners. It feels that their EVP titles are more symbolic because they are founders of AEW.
